@@techsamurai11 well that’s not particularly correct. Although the cable can transfer up to 48Gbs, Xbox and PS5 for example are both limited to 40Gbs, plus that includes a ton of lanes not only for picture, but also for sound (which takes quite a bit of that, especially for surround codecs), security protocols and such. As long as you need to power the TV, you need to run a cable to it so I don’t see any reason why it needs to be wireless, so in my opinion Samsung’s solution with a thin cable that runs power and signal is better. There may be edge cases, but you’ve got to have some pretty unique circumstances where a wireless connection is required.
Hello Caleb. I am having an extremely difficult time finding that exact stand for my 77" M3. Would you mind sharing the exact part number if you have it please?
@digitaltreds , can you please test the latency performance when gaming with a console (ps5/ Xbox) ? I assume there is a delay/ buffer to accommodate interruptions which is fine for regular viewing of tv/movies, but I'm curious when you had the unit placed in the tv console if gaming would expose any video delays.
I assume this Wireless Box is using the latest Wi-Fi Standard Wi-Fi 6 aka 802.11ax. This Standard is much better at managing multiple devices as unique connections.
I just want a very thin TV with the entire bezel that sits flush to the wall and a single cable to run to the TV. Surely most people want that too yet we only have a couple of models on the market, namely the Samsung frame or its other models that have a one connect box. If this wasn’t wireless and ran a single cable including power and signal then this would probably be the TV for me.
Love your channel and huge Fan of your detailed review. I would like your opinion on Lg G2 98 inch Vs M3 98 inch which one would you recommend? Is there much brightness difference within these two tvs. Since LG g2 98 inch has come down in price. What r your thoughts?
This seems very interesting but I'm not sure I would go for one, how does it work with using an external receiver for home theater setups like 5.1 or even 7.2.4? Feels like it's not made for more than soundbars at most?
I do have a question on this. What kind of signal is used to connect the box to the tv. In most houses, there are tons of wireless connections bouncing around and wonder if this will cause any issues with the tv. If it is wireless to the internet, then what kind of modem router was it connected too.
First the leg coming off the back of the TV is because they have to figure in the center of gravity so the T V doesn't fall over ! This way they can make it fit muti T V's
Hi Caleb, great works to explain how oled and other tvs working... i would by and oled tv (55), iam undecided between these (for budget): LG G2, LG C3 or Sony 55A80K... what do you think about it?
i am guessing they will do a version of this where the Box can also be connected with a data cable, for someone like me i do not want to have to deal with this but i like having a separate box like this because from a replacement and support stand point the who damn tv does not need to be replaced in most cases.
Any word on that stand being for sale yet? I have a G3 coming this week and can’t wall mount it. Not interested in using the current stand since it tilts back.
Hello, what about that stand, is it possible to buy somewhere? I am looking for lg G3 and that stand would be really great for it instead of that stupid default stand
I love the channel. The research, presentation and production values are awesome but why do the audio levels have to fluctuate so wildly in your videos?
We are working on that! In this case, I had to record a separate intro with a different audio recorder. For the unboxing portion, we used a new wireless mic setup that had unexpected noise floor issues, so that audio for that segment had to be treated, which is not normal. But for many videos, it’s one mic, one setup, so there should be no fluctuations. We appreciate that this stuff gets noticed and we are working on getting the best audio dialed in. Give us about a week and a half and let us know if you hear the difference?! BTW, do you use headphones when you watch our videos? Or speakers? Or just your phone or TV speakers?
@@Caleb_DenisonI frequently notice some fluctuations (mostly subtle) in sound on your videos. I actually watched this three times: 1) On my Sony TV through the speakers hooked up to my old Pioneer AVR; 2) Casted from my iPhone to my Marantz Model 40N, and 3) just on the iPhone. The results were less noticeable on the iPhone. For the other two: Sound on the Intro was full and fairly loud; the unboxing section was loud, full and at times slightly muffled depending on your position; for the review section in your A-roll position, the sound was slightly thinner, a little more distant and the volume was lower; for the B-roll, where you inserted a small portion of your G3 review related to its sound, your audio was louder and fuller again (more similar to your intro section). Hey, I am not sure if this aligns with your findings, or if you will even see this, but I thought you might find it helpful and I am actually a little nerdy!🤣🥰
@@Caleb_Denison I typically watch your videos on my home desktop computer, with the audio played through a small pair of Pioneer shelf speakers. Your reviews are the perfect length to watch over a morning cup of coffee and I'm glad to hear that the audio issue is likely just a short-term thing. I look forward to watching many more videos of you struggling to unbox large-screen TVs in the future. Cheers.
Do u need to power plug tv itself or that is wireless too. Video dont show he did power plug tv so my whole point watching this video was how tv is gettting power. 😅
what if M3 with this wireless box be in same room as your your Internet routers and devices like computers or tablets so if that case would I be better off with Sony 2023 A95L TV?
But if its taking a hard wired connection of HDMI, is it outputting the same as the input? Or is it a downgrade of the signal so it can handle the capacity of the Wi-Fi. I do like the concept of this, but are you "getting out" the same as you are "putting in"
"handle the capacity of the wifi" It's not WiFi. WiFi is 802.11x. This is Wireless Display, formerly WiDi. This television has some of the best picture quality you can buy. I'm, honestly, baffled that you think you can achieve top-tier picture quality if there is a wireless deficiency. "Sure, the display is great. The picture is spectacular, and it's now just behind ultra-high end offerings from Sony by a slim margin... but what if I'm smarter than the engineers and know there's a fundamental problem with this that actually makes the picture I'm seeing not as good as the picture I'm seeing?" It's a 52Gbps signal. HDMI 2.1 is either 40 or 48Gbps.
I'm really not getting how this is any different than just plain Ole fashion high speed wifi. Since the only way to add a soundbar system,, is through hdmi ports on the systems box.
Seems a bit niche to me. My internet stuff is tucked away in my TV cabinet and the TV and Sonos Playbase are connected to the router with ethernet to keep wireless minimised in the place. I don’t need or want something like this.
I was thinking this is awesome until I remembered it’s the power cord wire that irks me the most. Wireless TV already exists I can connect my phone & other devices to my Samsung so the technology is already there without using an humungous box. It’s only a matter of time before next gen gaming consoles & other equipment is as easy to stream on your TV as an iPhone already is.
Caleb, thank you for this! Great first video on the new tech! For your consideration, two things: 1. I am disappointed that you didn't test more scenarios with objects in between. Primarily, I was hoping you would test signal when the Box is in another room. If I were to get an M3, I would look for it to be 10-15 feet away, but in the next room or in a closet, i.e. with a wall in between the box and the set. 2. Did you consider that you are perceiving the M3's sound to be better than the G3's sound because now you're in a different studio that is acoustically treated? (Or does the M3 really have different audio tech than the G3?)
It doesn't work if the box is in another room. It practically requires a direct line of sight to the point that the antennas inside the box have to be directed towards the receiver on the television (hence the rotating thingy on the top). If you put any obstructions between the box and the receiver you're affecting the signal as you can see from his demonstration that just by covering the receiver end with your hand can cause dropped frames.
From someone that sells premium TVs for a living, I honestly don't see any point in a wireless zero connect setup. Anybody that is spending the stupid amount of money it would take to purchase one of these is definitely not relying on the built-in sound of the TV, they are using a good sound bar at the very least, if not an AVR and speaker system, which means if this TV gets mounted to the wall and the sound bar gets mounted right below it, then you are already gonna be running power and HDMI to the sound bar anyways or running speaker wires around the room for surround sound back to your AVR, which means you are ideally running 2-3 wires to the front of the room anyways, so if you are already going that invasive with the installation, what's one more HDMI cable? You already need to run power to live behind the TV anyways so I don't see any potential reason to get this over the G3 or anything else for that matter.
I’m not getting why this is such a wonder. If most midrange TVs like TCL and Hisense are able to let you “cast” or use “AirPlay” - isn’t that “wireless” TV when you are streaming content on your device but watching it on the big screen? I imagine LG’s device has a TV tuner in it - but most networks also have apps for your device. So why is this special and why aren’t other makers shedding some of the bulk and cost of traditional TV in favour of wireless?
It's stupid, they should just copy samsungs one connect box because here you still have a power cord of course whereas on the samsung one you have everything in on cable to the tv. It's ok if you have your input stuff somewhere else but I don't know if this is a common problem these days?!
@@Zockmock it’s been a while since I tested a one-connect box equipped TV. I may be wrong. Let me check this. I do know they at least flip flopped. There was a time when they caught because the one-connect cable with power didn’t exactly Meet the in-wall rating and this was not up to code in the U.S. if run in-wall, so they backed off that and out the power supply back in the TV. Time for me to go do some verifications. But I love your comment and it got me thinking!
@@Caleb_Denison Aww thank you, have a nice day :D Edit: Speaking of in-Wall rating in the us, I'm from Germany and we usually don't have dry walls here, just stone walls. Maybe there are different versions for the US and the EU?

Those spacers on the stand center balance the tv. Keeps the legs short in the back
I don't get it. You still need power cable so if you can hide one why can't you hide other cables
Yeah. Samsung's One Connect is better because you still need to hide just one wire. But lack of wireless is a benefit with no lags and interference.
This seems very interesting but I'm not sure I would go for one, how does it work with using an external receiver for home theater setups like 5.1 or even 7.2.4? Feels like it's not made for more than soundbars at most?
Can that stand adjust so the TV is closer to the feet or is that the lowest position?
How much does that TV cost, I would buy it because the wires give me headaches.
5:28 Sure, just when we have the perfect balance of cute kitten vs. grumpy Caleb, you cut away!
Seems to me that having the stand legs further apart would increase stability and using a soundbar easier.
Is there some sort of compression or are we really seeing the full 40Gbps HDMI2.1 signal sent wirelessly?
I do have a question on this. What kind of signal is used to connect the box to the tv. In most houses, there are tons of wireless connections bouncing around and wonder if this will cause any issues with the tv. If it is wireless to the internet, then what kind of modem router was it connected too.
Do you think I can put it on a Rolley stand in an apartment and just roll the TV to a different room?
First the leg coming off the back of the TV is because they have to figure in the center of gravity so the T V doesn't fall over ! This way they can make it fit muti T V's
Hi Caleb, great works to explain how oled and other tvs working... i would by and oled tv (55), iam undecided between these (for budget): LG G2, LG C3 or Sony 55A80K... what do you think about it?
Does this have MLA also ?
Audio was a little weird on this video...could be mic??
i am guessing they will do a version of this where the Box can also be connected with a data cable, for someone like me i do not want to have to deal with this but i like having a separate box like this because from a replacement and support stand point the who damn tv does not need to be replaced in most cases.
This TV could change the game as we know it! I am gonna pick up 3 of these for testing purposes but it needs MLA and heatsink
Have fun spending $90k on 3 of these 😂
Any word on that stand being for sale yet? I have a G3 coming this week and can’t wall mount it. Not interested in using the current stand since it tilts back.
Hello, what about that stand, is it possible to buy somewhere? I am looking for lg G3 and that stand would be really great for it instead of that stupid default stand
What’s the name of the 83in M3 LG OLED? I can’t find it and don’t want to install it to the wall.
Thanks
Dave
Does it have a heatsink? I’m kinda trapped which one to go for either M3 or A95L 77. Kindly need a decision support for this Caleb.
Cheers.
Why do you think the wisa audio speaker system won’t get adopted more mainstream?
Do u need to power plug tv itself or that is wireless too. Video dont show he did power plug tv so my whole point watching this video was how tv is gettting power. 😅
does the box have bluetooth maybe to still wirelessly connect to the audio system?
what if M3 with this wireless box be in same room as your your Internet routers and devices like computers or tablets so if that case would I be better off with Sony 2023 A95L TV?
But if its taking a hard wired connection of HDMI, is it outputting the same as the input? Or is it a downgrade of the signal so it can handle the capacity of the Wi-Fi. I do like the concept of this, but are you "getting out" the same as you are "putting in"
My question too!!!
"handle the capacity of the wifi"
It's not WiFi. WiFi is 802.11x. This is Wireless Display, formerly WiDi.
This television has some of the best picture quality you can buy.
I'm, honestly, baffled that you think you can achieve top-tier picture quality if there is a wireless deficiency.
"Sure, the display is great. The picture is spectacular, and it's now just behind ultra-high end offerings from Sony by a slim margin... but what if I'm smarter than the engineers and know there's a fundamental problem with this that actually makes the picture I'm seeing not as good as the picture I'm seeing?"
It's a 52Gbps signal. HDMI 2.1 is either 40 or 48Gbps.
This is really cool to see!
I'm intrigued though, what frequency/frequencies does the TV use to wirelessly transmit signals?
Can it work with Bose soundbar + sub woofer box and Apple TV 4K?
This would be a big hit for a projector. Mounting the projector on the ceiling without having to worry about any cables? Yes!
If there was a projector that was equipped to recieve the signal ,but there isn't.
Do you ever get to keep the things you test?
Do you have any plans to review the new Sharp Aquos XLED TVs? Really hoping to see a good review on them.
maybe I missed it, but how does the TV turn on does it have a power cable?
One connect like will be better solution as you still need power cable from TV! Maybe one day we can rid of all those ugly cable mess....
Line of site????? Could the box be place behind the tv ?
Pls do a video wall mounting of the LG M3 OLED
I'm really not getting how this is any different than just plain Ole fashion high speed wifi. Since the only way to add a soundbar system,, is through hdmi ports on the systems box.
Seems a bit niche to me. My internet stuff is tucked away in my TV cabinet and the TV and Sonos Playbase are connected to the router with ethernet to keep wireless minimised in the place. I don’t need or want something like this.
Love the Jimmy Buffett album cover.
How does hdmi connection with a soundbar work?
Dose it need a WiFi before the tv work with the connect box pls
I like that LG wireless TV Caleb, very nice.
Hi Caled!
Does the M3 have MLA ?
How is it wireless if you still need to plug in the tv/display to the wall?
Does this have MLA?
In the 77 yes. In the 83, no. Just like the G3
Thanks!@@Caleb_Denison
I was thinking this is awesome until I remembered it’s the power cord wire that irks me the most. Wireless TV already exists I can connect my phone & other devices to my Samsung so the technology is already there without using an humungous box. It’s only a matter of time before next gen gaming consoles & other equipment is as easy to stream on your TV as an iPhone already is.
Still got a fixed tethered power cable then?
How long do they both last before they require charging
Where can I find a list of Wisa speakers?
Caleb, thank you for this! Great first video on the new tech! For your consideration, two things:
Does the wireless connect box get hot?
It's stupid, they should just copy samsungs one connect box because here you still have a power cord of course whereas on the samsung one you have everything in on cable to the tv. It's ok if you have your input stuff somewhere else but I don't know if this is a common problem these days?!
Pretty sure Samsung isn’t running power up the one connect cable any longer. You still have to plug the display in as well as the one connect box.
@@Caleb_Denison Oh really? As of last year they always have one cable for all, wonder why they would change that.
@@Zockmock it’s been a while since I tested a one-connect box equipped TV. I may be wrong. Let me check this. I do know they at least flip flopped. There was a time when they caught because the one-connect cable with power didn’t exactly
Meet the in-wall rating and this was not up to code in the U.S. if run in-wall, so they backed off that and out the power supply back in the TV. Time for me to go do some verifications. But I love your comment and it got me thinking!
@@Caleb_Denison Aww thank you, have a nice day :D
Edit: Speaking of in-Wall rating in the us, I'm from Germany and we usually don't have dry walls here, just stone walls. Maybe there are different versions for the US and the EU?
A solution to a problem that doesn't exist! Still need a power cord and if using a soundbar the HDMI cable will be visible...... useless technology 😂
Personally I prefer the one connect box of Samsung. I can see where the zero connect box of LG can be useful, but the line of sight requirement is a big limitation in my opinion.
how does it compare to the new c63s?
You never mentioned what you had hooked up to the wireless transmitter.
I certainly know abour rhe stand sfter this review.
