If I wasn't saving to upgrade and get my first professional alto sax and didn't already have a soprano sax, that is one I'd seriously consider. I have always liked P. Mauriat soprano saxes and the warm full tone of this one sounds great! The side E key looks similar to the angled side E on a Buescher 400 and it does look easier to get to over the standard flatter one that most saxophones have.
Beautiful sound on that sax! Really tempting..getting in buying thoughts..A dealer in my home country used to have them in stock but they stopped selling them now..I asked why and the answer was that they had quality problems with the Mauriat horns. Factory setup was poor (leaks etc.)and the repair guy had to do quite a lot of adjustments and tweaks before they could sell them. Hmm..not so good to my ears. How’s the quality of the horns??
The ergonomics remind me of my Yamaha 62 Baritone Sax, especially the octave key. How does the ergonomics compare to the high end Yamaha saxes? I am curious to hear about the comparison between the two manufacturers. The studio looks great and you do sound good on the soprano. Stay well and safe.

I hear ya. Alto and tenor guys grab a soprano and constantly bend and scoop notes (especially into the higher notes), and it’s really an insufferable sound. Having said that, a skilled classical player can make them sing.
Jim, Studio looks and sounds great and so do you on that beautiful P Mauriat
Very crisp and beautiful sounding soprano. P.M.knocked it out of the park with this model.
The sound feels as soft as your favorite pillow. Wonderful, sweet, marshmallowy tone. Very nice. Jim, you do the best presentations.
'marshmallowy' is probably the best way to describe the sound of a soprano sax, wow 😍
It's great to have you back Jim!

That tone is perfect! What is your mouthpiece setup in this video??
wow....you sound really great on soprano!....
Good to see you again 🎷 hope you're fine
Great video Jim! I’d love to see a comparison between that and the Yanagisawa range of Soprano’s.
What mouthpiece are you using with the soprano? Thanks.
You know what they say about a guy with averagely-sized hands...
... no trouble buying gloves. ✋
Always marry a girl with small hands 😉 .
dam that sounds good

Can you please do a side by side comparison of the system 76 and master 97 soprano
Will they make a bari Master 97 at some point? I know they have the other three.
Can you tell us about the microphone you are using in the studio? Thank you.

*I want to have a soprano saxophone*
Not gonna lie, it may be in the saxophone family, but I can't stand the sound of soprano saxophone.
