Are you talking about the bucklos ones.....if you are, could you please tell me how long you had them and if you would recommend it to anybody and how do they feel on the trails?
@@Akua-q6d yeah, bucklos. The cranks are pretty New, got them like 4 weeks Ago. I dont pedal alot on my dh bike, but so far everything is great, no noise, everything is together, nothing bend. The bb bearings might be an issue maybe at some point sooner or later i'd guess, they didnt Look very robust.
@Hadroncollider_ Thanks so much,I would like to get a set for my dad thats getting into the sport, and he really likes the look of these,I appreciate the input 🔥
There's another creator on here I was watching a couple of weeks ago recording his XC race. He was in the rain, so the pace was slow and easy, and the trail was pretty much the same type. His real 5dev drive side snapped on him underfoot. It must have flexed under the BB or something. It just snapped from the center cross structure, so they snap pretty easily without the outter faces and just showing the cool back structure! Look at Shimano cranks. The backs are the same as 5dev but with a face to strengthen them! By "face," I mean where the brand name would be on outside face.
Ive had that seizing problem on a pedal spindle and other types of equipment, plumbing, mechanical , the trick is to get 2 wrenches on it , the second being vicegrips , or whatever is most advantageous.
Um my crankbrothers mallet trails are easy to install on the evosid cranks. I don’t put loc-tite as I remove my pedals and cranks often depending on the type of trails I’m riding. I have no problems with my evosid cranks. My cranks look like and are designed like the new 5-dev race spec franks which are thicker and then the first generation. 5 dev. Cranks that are prone to snapping.
How do you get pedals stuck in the cranks? How tight are you torquing them? As someone who swaps pedals between bikes, I just install them a bit more than finger tight 😁 never had a pedal come off in 20+ years of riding👌
I just got some of these but they didn’t come with any bolt fixings for the crank arm. Can u tell me if it’s the same bolts as they use on the shimano cranks ? I’m currently running sram so there not compatible
Worst case for removing the pedal, assuming you don’t really care about the cranks. Cut a line with a cutting wheel on a dremel through the crank almost completely to the threads. Hammer a chisel or a thick flathead into the cut and put some tension on it to loosen the material enough to back the pedal off.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure aluminum and titanium do react. I think it’s called galvanic corrosion and that’s why you’re supposed to use anti seize compound on the threads.
Yes, most cranks are aluminum and even carbon fiber cranks usually have an aluminum insert for the threads, which is why it’s surprising that you haven’t had an issue until now. My best guess is that the knock offs use a different anodizing process or a different alloy.
Best to test it on low level trails first anyway. Durability can be tested over time as well. Should be interesting to hear a long term term review in a few months. Appreciate the contributions to the community.
You should have used so Ti-prep anti seize compound.
@@thetruelefty9302 first I'm hearing about it thanks!

hey, i ride those cranks on my older downhill bike. They are pretty good, no issues and people think i had money.

I actually like the look of the cheaper cranks a little more. I’ve never noticed my cranks unless they suck
Evosid are now doing a set, a guy is reviewing now and is really taking them to the next level for mtb trails ive left a link below in another comment
@@Emtbtoday they are the same as the Bucklos I took a look at already.
If they can make 155mm length, I'll be interested.

Was there any elevation change on those trails? Like a drop, or downhill section? Need to put more pressure on them.

Look up galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals
Do you think the crank fits direct on the sram bottom bracket or you absolutly need the one that comes with it? Tks
The SRAM BB should work fine

@@dayinnymtb Thanks for the idea. I have an impact wrench and extractors for when the time comes. For now I'm just going to ride it as-is.

goldix or these?
