    About 5k of the price is in the wood. Making anything today out of wood (or even veneered pressboard) is unbelievably expensive. If they made them out of plastic, they'd get to the price point you want but no one would buy one. Plus, they have to be practically handmade at the volume they sell, which also adds to the overall cost, not just the cabinet.
    But what a stunning sound and fantastic performances!

    Thank you for confirming with you great talent, so magnificently for us the beauty and depth that moves the spirit contained in the works of Bach when brought forth by an artist such as you,,an artist of great talent, depth and the ability to draw nearly limitless resources from the organ be they pipes or otherwise. Thank you. The greatness of Bach is so often lost by the black and white notes alone foresaking the expression of the artists interpertation.The tonal possibilities you use in this presentation are proof that the organ truely is the King of Instruments.

    @gitlance He was talking about Franck, but he played the Handel Aria instead. A bit confusing. It even says Chorale Franck behind the title of the Handel Aria.

    Okay - I think I have a little more information on this now. It's from the Concerto #10, opus 7/no.4 HWV 309.

    @Envergure One of the Rodgers dealers was advertising them between $16k and $18k if I remember correctly, plus tax, delivery, and installation. I agree with you that is an obscene asking price when the entry-level Insignias used to be considerably less, and Johannus organs start less than $7k. For a home practice instrument, one can do much better than $20k!

    I saw him perform on that organ.....that organ is amazing how little it is and what it can do....and so is hector....amazing organist

    Obviously "Chorale Franck" was an error in the editing of the video. "Aria by Handel" must have been superimposed in TH-cam to correct the error. If you view the raw MP4, the correction is missing.

    This organ sounds great. Here's the question: would it sound the same in MY house, or has the sound been dressed up for this video? I'm asking sincerely, by the way. Thanks.

      Is one organ enough, perhaps you can also use another one in the kitchen?

    I would like to see this replace our faltering defectone in our church. If only I had the means to replace it, I would donate one of this (sigh)...

    @talss56 Okay, now I think I know how to 'Inbox" you. I found it on iTunes listed as from Handel's Concerto No.4, op. 7, 3rd mvt. It's played by Bruno Morin. I have also seen it listed as from the Concerto #10. Good luck.

  • @obxemt
    @obxemt 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @oofahman Yes sir I've played almost a dozen and they're quite wonderful. You must have heard one that was poorly voiced because there's no comparison between a well-voiced low-end Johannus and Rodgers' low-end generic unconvincing sound. I understand the newer Rodgers Masterpiece series or whatever it is called is much better though, and on par with The Johannus Monarch series.

    iTunes lists it as from Handel's Concerto No 4, op7, 3rd mvt; but I've also seen it listed as from the Concerto #10.
    Sorry, but I don't know how to 'Inbox " you.

  • @oofahman
    @oofahman 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @obxemt maybe so, but Johannus organs are terrible! Have you ever heard one? We went to a church to hear one as we were going to purchase one for our church. Am I glad we heard it! After ten minutes, we couldn't stand the horrible sound, said thank you and left. We ended up with a fabulous Rodgers and let me tell you, We got what we paid for!! We are VERY happy with the Rodgers.

    @oofahman So, how 'bout that Super Bowl! ...haha.

  • @oofahman
    @oofahman 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @obxemt no it wasn't badly voiced...they are just a sad attempt at trying to achieve what Rodgers has had all along; quality construction right here in the US, and the most impeccable sound of real pipes.

  • @oofahman
    @oofahman 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @obxemt I don't think so :)

    The only price I can find is 20 000$ That can't be right. This is just a specialized sampler we're talking about.

  • @obxemt
    @obxemt 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @oofahman Well you know what they say; opinions are like assholes: everybody has one (and some assholes have opinions). But not all opinions are created equally. You're certainly entitled to yours though, even if it is based in a single anecdotal experience and not reality. Every manufacturer has poor installations and poor products just like every profession has poorly performing members. I'm glad you're happy with your Rodgers, but Johannus on the whole (like Allen) is equally a fine product.

  • @obxemt
    @obxemt 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @oofahman Hahaha! Thanks for the laugh. You sound like an Allen dealer, bashing the competition instead of operating on your own merits. If you like Rodgers, that's just swell for you. But don't bash the competition based on what you think you heard in one sample, especially if you're not an organist.
