I found KARD in 2017 when I was looking for something like Dreamcatcher. I found this song th-cam.com/video/t1aGbpn-NUI/w-d-xo.html and had great hopes for them. They had the same problems as Dreamcatcher. Their agency is small and they're a coed group in a country that's all girl group or boy group. They gambled just like Dreamcatcher did and struggled in the same way for years, and had trouble really pinning down their concept. They were saved by international fans just like Dreamcatcher was, and they're doing well, touring in the US right now. Dreamcatcher stuck with the genre they created with rock based music so you always know you're listening to Dreamcatcher. KARD never really did that and instead tried different music genres while sticking with a very dark concept. I love that first song, but what they're doing now isn't to my taste. I'm really happy they're succeeding because Kpop really needs unusual groups to shake up the mainstream.
