  • Going on a crypto-zoological theme this go around with a dash of American Horror Story's Circus Season. This episode features my test and review of the AK Interactive Humidity and Wet Effects paint set as well as the Ammo Mig Decay and Abandoned weathering set. Be sure to check out the other participants in the Three Blind Mice custom diecast builds and like and subscribe to them as well. This is a really fun community event and everyone worked really hard on their customs.

    It truly has that horror movie feel to it...like you’re a kid out fishing with your friends at the lake when you notice something over in that dark area of the lake with the trees. Personally, I think it’s home to the Creature from the Black Lagoon. 👍

    I’d love to see a base build. What separates your channel from others is the story you tell as you show the build. You could be a movie set creator, Chuck. It’s always a pleasure to see what your brain comes up with. There is a ‘Leviathan’ mentioned in the Bible.....did you go Old Testament on us? LOL. Brilliant work as always, love the wet effect. I thought the “run” warning was a great touch.

    Some serious skills on view here and some techniques I've never seen before. To my eye, the final result is a wee bit too busy/overcrowded and I feel you actually *lost* some of detail you worked so hard to achieve. You nailed the "circusy" look, a major success in itself.👍👌
    The back story adds a lot to the project, probably even more so when it gets added to the diorama, but your whole thought process is kinda flawed because this *IS* based on a real vehicle, a gas tanker - have a look at Lee's video. 😁
    This is my first view of your channel, all very slick, and I think I'll be back. If nothing else, I'm keen to see the completed diorama.
    Cheers for now,
    Dougie.

    This thing turned out awesome. I love doing the abandoned vehicle kind of weathering and dioramas.
    You may already know this, but another way to create leaves is to take some dried leaves from the backyard and run then through the spice blender. You will end up with tiny pieces of real leaves. Or, you can use oregano or some other Italian seasoning blend of spices for multi-colored leaves. Use these in conjunction with the flocking for a realistic effect. You can find a lot of diorama effects in the spice isle at Wal-Mart (LoL).
    I will have to argue with you about who is the best math tutor. My wife is the best. Seriously though, it's always great knowing that there are great teachers out there like our wives. My wife does all levels also. She helped my high school classmate with his college math. He is in Alaska and we were in Florida at the time. It takes a special talent to do what our wives do. I hope your wife gets tutor jobs from your videos.

    • @DiecastMediaNetwork
      @DiecastMediaNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. That's very kind of you to say. Man, that's a great idea mixing the leaves with the flocking. I'm definitely gonna have to try that. Thanks for the tip! I have some leaves I've ground up in the past but I didn't even think about mixing the two together. That's brilliant. Best wishes to you and your amazing teacher wife. ☺️

    • @woodandwheelz
      @woodandwheelz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DiecastMediaNetwork You're very welcome. You can also mix different colored flocking to create a more natural appearance.

    • @DiecastMediaNetwork
      @DiecastMediaNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's also something I want to experiment with. I recently inherited a bunch of flocking, and I've been doing a little wood working so I've been saving sawdust to make custom flocking.

    • @woodandwheelz
      @woodandwheelz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DiecastMediaNetwork I have about 3 Firehouse pickle buckets full of saw dust (maybe more), soooo, if you ever need any...LoL. One day, a long time ago, I was looking at diorama supplies and I realized that it was mostly natural stuff. So ever since then I've collected a couple handfuls of rocks, sand or gravel from every place I visit. If I want logs, I'll get sticks from the back yard. Or, as you did with the vines, I collect roots (which make great dead trees as well). I'm going to do a video on all of this too. I just need to gather up a few more supplies.

    • @DiecastMediaNetwork
      @DiecastMediaNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@woodandwheelz That's a really good idea. I'll have to keep an eye out for rocks and stuff once we're back to traveling again. I appreciate the offer, but I think a few more projects around here will give me more than I'll ever need. ;)

    If you ever do another build where you need roots or ivy type things to scale try using thread or twine unraveled. You can add tiny bits of spices as leaves to make the ivy look like its growing . Would like to see it on it's display base.
