You can have those shingles on the roof just have to double the underlayment or install Ice and water shield for the whole roof. Poor ventilation of the attic as well. Good video though.
That is really good information. Thank you! It is very unlikely they did that. Other than pulling the shingles up at the end to double check it. Is there another sign someone can identify that?
@@AActionHomeInspectionHouston LOL Nope! Most chances are unless you know the roofer who installed the roof they did it wrong. It is always a safe bet to write up. Depending on the area people live some states require ice and water shield at the eves but not the rest of the roof. So if you have a low slope roof in one of these areas you will never know for sure that the whole roof has been done.
@@jstimen1906 yeah unless you watched the roofer put it down, I'd be skeptical. But I've done the ice and water on shallow pitches and it works just fine.
Why builders leave vent pipe open? I see mostly open no cap on it.This is not violation b/c this open pipe is inviting snow, rain water, animals and debris.
I know the pitch looks okay in the video but, we measured it at a 1/12. The angle of the shot makes it look steeper than it actually is.
Another great video Chris, Im an inspector in McAllen, Tx, I learn a lot from every video you post, keep that good work.

I was interested in becoming a home inspector but I have visible tattoos. Would that be an issue in this industry?
Some of the best inspectors have tattoos. I say as long as they are not on your face, you are in good shape.
