Ive mever bird nested. Just have the breaks at max, click back a few times, then adjust the tension until the lure hits the floor without a birds nest, and tahts it really

Finally someone else that casts with there right and reels with there left. Why switch hands just to reel 🤷‍♂️. My first bait caster came on a pole from walmart i bought then smashed that reel over a big ol rock 😅. Then i went to the sporting good store and had them order me a diawa left hand reel and i love it.

That works with a spin outfit…but with a proper rod and reel eg. Baitcaster, your casting grip is different to the grip you should use when working a real lure (hardbody) or fighting a real fish (one that pulls eg. Not a pond slug). Don’t hold a Baitcaster like a girlyman please.

Spinning reels are shit lmao and plus, you dont have to get an expensive ass dc baitcaster to not have backlashes. Learn how to set a baitcaster up and you will never throw a backlash and can cast way farther and more accurately then any spinning reel once I made the switch I haven't used a baitcaster since, it's been like 10 years and I'm never goin back even my catfishing setups are used with baitcasters. First baitcaster I ever got was a abu garcia black max and once I learned how to get it to not backlash it was great ended up breaking it but bought a left handed version just to have cause now I've got over 1000 just in 2 rods and reels but you definitely don't need it just nice to have.
