This sounds like a mantra to me. So often it plays in my head and over many years I believe he was chanting. I love this tune. Thank you for the lyrics man!
Man! I remember sitting in the back seat of the car driving along with my Mom and Dad as usual listening to music and that phrase got stuck in my mind. For years I tried to find what song it went to. Finally an answer!
"#9 Dream" came to Lennon in a dream. Lennon has said that the song was just "churned out" with "no inspiration. That's what I call craftsmanship writing, meaning, you know, I just churned that out. I'm not putting it down, it's just what it is, but I just sat down and wrote it, you know, with no real inspiration, based on a dream I'd had. According to May Pang's website, two working titles for the song were "So Long Ago" and "Walls & Bridges". Pang also states that the phrase repeated in the chorus, "Ah! böwakawa poussé, poussé", came to Lennon in a dream and has no specific meaning.[3] Pang added that Al Coury of Capitol Records initially protested against the use of the word "pussy" in the chorus, but after Lori Burton, the wife of studio engineer Roy Cicala, suggested that it should be sung as "poussé," as if in a foreign language, the lyrics were kept. The song was notable as a favourite of Lennon's, despite his later claim that the song was a "throwaway."[2] Pang said on the matter, "This was one of John's favourite songs, because it literally came to him in a dream. He woke up and wrote down those words along with the melody. He had no idea what it meant, but he thought it sounded beautiful."
It is a beautiful song and lyrics that's been on my mind for almost 50 years. I always wanted to know what "Ah Bowakawa pousse pousse meant, I thought it was French.
I woke up this morning having that tune in my head but not quite remember one song that was and then finding this this was actually playing in the background of a bunch of dream shorts of people that I knew places I knew but things that didn't actually happen the morning after the evening after releasing my helium balloons from my 2 x 30 birthday on the 11th of January kind of magical to me
I was singing this out loud to my relatives bc this song just completes my life but when singing the "Ah! Bawakawa Pousse Pousse!" my mom screamed at me for saying "naughty language" in front of guests. XD
I remember sitting with Robin Kline my girlfriend at the time daughter of the manager of the Beatles /Rolling Stones in the back seat of John's hand painted Rolls-Royce! Was It just a Dream don't think so 😊
No 9 was the number of the door of John Lennon's bungalow at Rishikesh when the Beatles, Donovan and others stayed at a ASHRAM in northern India in February 1968. ( by invitation of the Maharishi following the death of Brian Epstein ) . Song and dream make a little more sense now?

From time to time this comes to my mind and then for days I chant it like a mantra.
It's said that John heard this song originally in a dream he had, long ago.
I was singing this out loud to my relatives bc this song just completes my life but when singing the "Ah! Bawakawa Pousse Pousse!" my mom screamed at me for saying "naughty language" in front of guests. XD
miss u John =''(
And to think when George Martin put strings into the Beatles songs, Lennon hated it. Listen to the strings in this?
Lennon does not know what the 'oh bowkawaka' means. He literally heard the phrase ( in a vivid dream.
thank u for uploading x x x

I really like this song i am going to sing tomorrow on Tik tok
When music was magic.
What Lennon might have produced had he not have crossed paths with such Japanese kryptonite.
I, Paul and Carol, Jose, Jose...
Aw bowakawa pousse, pousse???
Is that some kind of chant?
But what do the lyrics mean at that one point?
I love how he went back to an early BEATLE song (For no one on REVOLVER) and did the classic, Its over...NOPE not yet kinda thing...lol
lollylauraxx :-Youre Welcome :)

I wonder what John's dreams were like.
I was tormented for many years with the strange lyrics that sounded like he was…saying I’ll bow wah cow ah pusay pusay
the song is about a motorcycle racer......."ah, i'm a kawi, pussy pussy" or "ah, i'm a coward, pussy pussy"
Buzzy Boo That's what I heard.
What does the refrain translate to?
It translates to bang bang bang bang ricochet ricochet ricochet ricochet echo echo echo echo Dakota acoustics + acid + time warpage
The Great Awakening
Is life an illusion?

IF I PLAYED A SONG STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME PLAY IT AGAIN.
I AM NOT SINGING IT TO ANYONE. I WISH YOU STOP TELLING ME WHO DIED & WHAT THE WEATHER IS GOING TO BE,I AM HAVING THOSE NOTIFICATIONS TAKEN OFF.
What the hell was he smoking, this is far out
What ever he was smoking must have been expired
Great music... terrible lyrics.
It would help if you'd at least get the song's title correct.
