The liquid you put in the mold, how it is prepared, what is the name of the chemical that leaves the water and sticks to the mold and the water escapes Please answer me
I’ve got a question... I’ve made a few sculptures in oil-based clay - do I need to mold with plaster to cast in porcelain, or can I use another material for the mold? They are a little intricate and would require a multi-piece mold if I had to use plaster. Thank you!
only plaster, specifically Pottery Plaster. Yes, might require multiple piece mold. I often have to make multi-piece several molds to produce just one piece. Good luck!
@@InspiredBritishColumbia and for those multi-piece molds, would you simply score and add slip to each attachment to ensure a firm connection to each piece before firing?
Do artists ever just carve or mold the porcelain clay and then fire it (no casting)? There is some vintage "allach" German Shepherd figurines that have insane detail and lifelike appearance. The piece was so detailed and perfect I am really curious how that type of figurine is made. If you search "Allach German Shepherd" you will likely find it.
