Great tips Dave. The more I play with this program the more I like it.

@@DaveGatton It sure is. I do wish it could save as an IGES file. But for the price it is great!

Good info Dave! I definitely think the blue background is a must do. It is sooooo much easier on the eyes.

Thanks for watching Ryan. I've been looking at that skyblue background for nearly 20 years and it's so much nicer than the default background color.

Hmm, yes but there is always a compromise when viewing Wireframe / Hidden line and Hidden line removed - i.e you need good contrast... so any colour stands out very well with a white~ish background. The darker the background the harder to see construction lines / curves in sections / sketches or even in 3D ( D mode). Bright white I agree is too hard on the eye's - probably the quality of the monitor helps here as well.
I used Ivory for a fair while but I lost contrast with my sandy yellow custom - now back to white again.
      A good useful video.

Some good info Dave. First thing I did was change mine to sky blue and gray parts.

Thanks for watching Larry. The sky blue is definitely my favorite. Been using that background color for years.

Played with it the other day, really cool software specially for free. You could even do assembly's.

Dave, thanks, more good information. This program seems more “logical” than Fusion.

Another very informative video Dave. 👍 Can you change the color of different components? Like, you have a gray block in video, and you wanted to put a cylinder coming out of the middle of it, can you make the cylinder yellow? Just curious. 👍

Thanks for watching Troy. Yes you can easily change the color. I can show you during the next Coffee Session. 😊

Very well done! you have touched on some useful starting point issues. very informative video Dave. I am having trouble with showing measurements: how tall or long

I will have some videos on dimensioning in the near future.

  • @noyy6999

Hi, how do I change the precision of the dimensions(mm)? Recently I was designing a membrane for a vacuum valve and I had a problem because the diameter was 32.62mm and when typed it shows 32 or 33mm.
