Mya Elbows fucking EVER. holds up to the old canon, without hesitation. I hope they follow this up, and with something as perfect. this album is too good...
Among the foremost examples of balancing minimalism/primitive music with tempo variation, infusion of ethnic and martial rhythms, thematic nuance and esotericism. Equal parts death metal, "war" metal, doom and even martial industrial and not easily bucketed. Best band from south Asia, period and puts most 'bestial' bands to shame with their carefully crafted music. Best heard on vinyl, that I acquired recently despite continual listens since 2015.
What a great fucking album! Some of you may find it quite relaxing. I don't know why, but it keeps happening to me. In the other hand, chaos, brutality and darkness have their own harmonie, it's not easy to understand, that's all.
Anyone know of any other bands remotely similar? I mean this is unique as f*** but I know Tetragrammacide sounds pretty similar from what I've heard. This is better than that tho. Just craving more of this vibe
Probably content about the civil war that went from 1983 to 2009 in Sri Lanka. I could imagine growing up around violence for that long produces music & bands like Genocide Shrines & Konflict.
one of the greatest black/death releases ever. absolutely crushing
+Mya Elbows Fuck man....both albums....love the ancient theme too....insane shit!!

This gives the Metal back the wrath of the 80s and early 90s which got lost after it became a businesses.
music like this is weirdly relaxing because its just so different from "regular" music that we listen all the time
What a great fucking album!

Indeed I find it "meditative" so to say...I cant tell it is a genuine band
I understand man music like this is what made me start believing in the other side and higher forces
Because this album is based on tantra/Indian occult. just listened to the intro you will get an Idea . I bet they used some bija mantras on the lyrics
Same for me, It flows so well.
Another one of the most relaxing albums for me is Revenge - Strike.Smother.Dehumanize

I wonder if the first song is a homage to disembowelment?
Sicslayer doubt it
Well it sounds really similar to Excoriate.
Sicslayer. I like disembowelment and i feel the same about your comment.
