Hansi refused to cancel even with his voice acting up, fucking metal\m/ still sounded amazing. seems like he puts more into his voice here than anything.
@kazaakas Yeah, I reckon live he should just sing clean. Putting too much heat on your voice ruins it over long performances and you lose your high range. Bruce Dickinson seems to have similar issues. Recorded, Hansi's voice (and particularly his range) is nothing short of incredible.
I think he sounds quite alright actually. Not sure what people are complaining. This is live metal! And I think this is pretty much end 90's live Hansi. His vocals and singing technique have obviously changed throughout the years.
I think his poor voice condition somehow made this song better. More menacing and indomitable, it gives unique feeling! And "comeback" at the end is completly rocking!
Yes, that's quite obvious, but what amazes me is that he still tries and goes on and on with all of is heart! He is the singer that has made the most influence upon my composing and singing and I respect him heavily!
Poor Hansi, I feel sorry for him :( And I know how horrible that shit is when your f*ck up your throat - it happens very quickly if you can't hear yourself well and you push to outshout the others - 1-2 songs, especially on that level of vocal lines, and you're down.
Hansi was obviously having some kind of throat-illness I think it sucked the most for himself because as a singer he was probably well aware that he wasnt performing very well
He is not suffering any type of condition! This song is vocally multi layered.. it seems as if though he was trying to do several voices or find the proper voice to use in each particular part. This is probably the first or second time he actually singa this live. Hansi is fucking amazing!
Hansi is without a doubt one of my favorite vocalists of all time, him and Jon did a fantastic job with Demons & Wizards and I can't wait for the new material hopefully coming out next year! Also, Blood on My Hands is my definitely my favorite song from this group
Between NiME and aNatO Hansi suffered from a swollen inner ear (not the technical term i´m afraid hehehe) for like 3-4 years, every live show from that era is pretty much him trying to listen to whatever key he's singing in. Very unfortunate for such high-pitched songs. I´m really glad to see that nowadays he's kicking ass on the new tour, hell yeah!
If you listen to his speeche at the beginning you realize that he was already very exhausted. Even though it is hard to believe, Hansi is only human so it is just normal that he loses a bit of his voice. I saw him 2 times live with Blind Guardian and can say that he's still mindfucking awesome live

The image of Eddie on either side of the stage reminds me that Demons & Wizards' debut album was released the same year as Iron Maiden's Brave New World. What an amazing year for music!
You indeed have a point there, however nobody is absolutely fool proof healthwise. think of something you do well and think of doing it sick ,,, big difference in quality
