This is the first one that he's ever been so aggressive in though and for good reason too. Kujo beats sold him a beat with a stolen sample and when the sample owners wanted him to pay up, he went after Ren demanding more than he was owed and copyrighted Ren's song "sick boi" to hold as ransom. The gf involved herself in it too. Its a whole ordeal that he explains in a 35minute video on his page if you want to see the full thing. But even without the backstory it's a masterpiece to watch so thanks for reacting to it! ❤

His talents include rap, story telling, singing, produces , and is an extraordinary musician and lyricist. We love him very much as you can tell! After HI REN there are a million others. Sick Boi, Tales of Jenny and Screech and Violet, a 3 part piece that must be done together in that order), Money Game 1,2 and 3. For fun, try a really fun rap /EDM piece, 'Losing It', a retake. There’s a 35 min video explaining the situation with Kujo, but here’s quick rundown of the situation: Ren bought an unlimited license for a beat by Kujo he used to make Sick Boi. Kujo had used an uncleared choir sample without disclosing it. Fast forward to the song exploding and the owner of the choir sample realize their sample is being illegally used so they reach out to Ren’s lawyer. The lawyer go to Kujo to ask him to pay since he’s the one who sold a stolen sample. Kujo refuses. Long back and forth ensued. Meanwhile, Ren is in Canada getting treatment and has no idea this is happening. Basically what happened is Kujo took advantage of this whole mess, put a copyright strike (putting down the video) as leverage. It’s a VERY agressive move because if you get 3 strikes, TH-cam completely shuts down your channel. Kujo then used a technicality inside the contract to try and suck more money out of Ren. Ren was initially VERY amicable and willing to find solution (even suggesting they do a new track together, 50-50) but Kujo shut him down. Him and his gf repeatedly posted straight out lies about the situation and the contract, and tried to sully Ren’s character. Out of principle, Ren refused to bend and ended up totally taking down Sick Boi form every platform. Since then, Ren was able to have a face to face with the head of TH-cam music. The Sick Boi vid was put back up and the strike was removed from Ren’s channel.
There are a couple of references to other Ren tracks in there. At the beginning, when he talks about hope prevailing and the pendulum, it refers to the song Hi Ren (which is mentions by title). He does the same back and forth except hope won’t win this time. Basically, Ren kept hoping for a positive resolution with Kujo that just never came so now he’s purging his anger creatively with his “razor blade pen”. Then there’s the moral of Jimmy and the cookie jar. That’s a reference to Money Game Part 3. Ren also mentions Dotta. King Dotta is another rapper who poke a bunch of other rappers to provoke them. He dissed Knox Hill and Ren. They both dissed him back, but it ended amicably. Ren and King Dotta are on good terms now.

Ren supports reactors, doesn't do copyright strikes and allows reactors to monetise their reactions. In the unlikely event that you do get a strike on a Ren video, it won't have come from Ren. It'll be someone else mistakenly or fraudulently claiming on his behalf. Just appeal the decision and Ren will automatically overturn it but, as I said, you should be absolutely fine! :) If you rewind a little, after pausing, you won't miss anything. :) I'm also pretty certain that rewinding, after pausing, makes it less likely that you'll receive a copyright strike, as it makes the reaction less like the original video/track, thereby making it less likely to be played for the track alone.
Ren is militantly against greed. His latest motto is: "A rising tide lifts all boats." He won't copyright strike, and you can monetize video. If there is an issue where youtube screws up, contact them, and you will be whitelisted. 😊😊😊
