The first double decker train I went on was in Sweden. My son used to live and work in Uppsala. Sweden is so beautiful. I love all the trees and lakes.
come to Sydney Australia we have double decker trains since the late 1970s and just about ever train is double decker , except for the new metro driverless system which are single decker
The sweetest little whistle the SJ E 1333 has there, very plain train though, lovely caboose. Built 1907 to 1920. My Mum grew up with steam trains at the back door as a young girl and that passion continued through her whole life.

Ah! Not far from Gunnebo Slott. The place where Göran Persson and George W Bush held a meeting in March 2001. I remember that it was a total traffic chaos that day - I had to take some creative routes to get home that day going behind the hospital of Mölndal among other things to get to Åby Center.
haha. not into trains having spent 53 hours in one a few years back. It was non-sleeper and I was in the only smoking carriage available on the entire train of 29 packed carriages. I am not a smoker. Can you imagine the horror. Everyone who smoked came to our carriage (last one on the train) to have their cigarette. Smokers like to smoke together. Noisy as! Stinky as!

Electric locos going at low speed due to line speed limitations, but steam loco can do any speed they wish to, because the line was originally built for them.....
Actually, the steam loco is limited to 80 km/h on that line (Göteborg - Borås) because it does not have ATC equipped. The other trains are allowed to reach the line speed of 140 km/h (Göteborg - Borås) . Any other restriction on the tracks affect ALL trains traveling that section. The fact that it's sometimes slower is because they either have a lot of time in the timetable or they are slowing down because there is another train in the way (next signal is red). The actual speed limit on this stretch is 75 km/h with an allowence of 10% overspeed IF the train is equipped with ATC & the train has "soft" boogies, 10% of 75 is 7,5. You add 7,5 to 75 (82,5) and round it down to the closest 5 giving you 80. Closer to Mölnlycke it's 90 for all ATC equipped trains and 80 for non ATC equipped trains. This means that the steam locomotive is allowed 75 km/h here because it does not have ATC. ATC = Automatic Train Control, it checks your speed and stops the train if you don't stop it in time for a signal or restriction.
