I'm so glad that I was there tonight. I grew up with this show, and tonight felt like I was losing a loved one. Every night that I'd see this I'd feel a wave of inspiration and would look ahead to what would be in the future. For me, IllumiNations is irreplaceable, but have to go on and I will celebrate the future hand in hand with my family.
It was an absolute pleasure to be there when this happened and even more grateful that they got every effect and firework to work for the last showing. I've been down here in Florida for a few months now and, unfortunately, not everything had been working for this show the last few times I've been seeing it. Like, it was showing its age a bit. So to see this show and to see everything actually go off and work one last time...it was a truly beautiful moment that I will never forget.
I went to see this show from Japan on February 7 in this year and that was my first time visit. I really like this show. I bought the soundtrack as soon as I went back to Japan. I don't believe it was over..... We can't see the show "Reflection of Earth" again, but reflection of earth must not be over. We go on.

I was here for this and cried so much. It was the first park I ever worked as a cast member and I watched this each night while closing the outdoor festival kitchens. I recorded that final night on my channel. I’ll never forget it
Thanks for this. I can't believe how perfectly positioned dead center your camera was to capture the show. Near the end, when spotlights appear on The American Adventure they frame the globe perfectly.
This was my favorite show at WDW and I miss it so much. The music, the fireworks, the lights and fountains and fire was all coordinated SO well!! I hope the next show is just as good as this one. It has BIG shoes to fill!
My family lives in Ohio and we've been going to Disney World at least once a year since 2004 and we've never really stopped to watch this, we always walked by and saw it happening as we rushed to Maelstrom or Gran Fiesta Tour before the park closed 😂 or heard the half hour and 15 minute announcements but no one besides by grandma ever really cared enough to stop and watch. Earlier this year we heard it was ending this fall so when we went in March I made sure my family stopped and watched. We watched from between Norway and China and now I'm sad we didn't stop to see it all those years :( . Rip.
This was the best way to end the day at epcot I remember seeing this in December of 1999 and I was like wow this is amazing. Everytime I went back I always looked forward to watching this show after I toured epcot doing all of the pavilions in future world and seeing all 11 countries at world showcase. Thanks for great memories.
That was beautiful!! The show is gone forever now, but it really isn't it will live forever in our hearts and on TH-cam. We will go on with whatever life throws at us remembering the inspiration this show brought to us and in great anticipation of Epcot's next permanent show, whether it's just as good or not. I have only seen snippets of Epcot Forever so far, but I really don't think I'm ready to check it out right now after seeing that!
Nothing ever really makes me tear up - but to watch this, realise this was the last and that I will never see it again, along with a trip there being ruined because of corona, and hearing people singing to it (if you listen close enough) actually hit hard...

I agree! I watched the livestream of opening night of "Epcot Forever" and it can be summed up in 2 words: IT SUCKS! the real replacement sounds worse just by it's name alone. "Harmonius!" WTH were they smoking when they came up with THAT name.

The finale is pathetically underwhelming and the music, despite being some of my favorite Disney attraction theme songs including the retired ones, is so bland. ROE had the story of unity and inspiration... it was the show that everything came to a halt from the 17 minutes starting with the torches continuing through Promise. This show cannot be replaced and is legendary for its pre-show, soundtrack, and post-show with Tapestry of Nations and October 1, 2019 was the day that Disney took a pretty significant quality hit in my eyes. I mean the Epcot Forever soundtrack is (no offense.... just facts) complete shit. Before I get hate for this... I understand going for old Epcot songs and that the Tapestry of Nations inclusion is the best part of the new show.... but it ends there for me. It is a jumbled mess with each clip playing a random 10-20 seconds before cutting away to something else in the least subtle way possible. I am going to go ahead and just hit the comment button before I get on a roll with the ending of Epcot Forever being "A Whole New World".... I have nothing good to say about that.
Fortunately the preshow soundtrack can be found easily especially (in my case) Our Life (uttara kuru) that signify the start of something beautiful I went there to say goodbye in jan 2019 but never saw Epcot forever or the new show. About the hit..I disagree, I think it was a final nail in the coffin but Epcot suffered a LOT before that. Just the way they planned the new direction that epcot was going... it was bound to hit a freaking wall and it is infuriating and heartbreaking..

I Cried too Hard after seeing this end that fateful Night, I mean 20 YEARS?! I couldn’t stop crying because I’ve seen this too many times and mainly Doing the Intro Clapping each time I was here. My friends were there too, I talked to them when we got back to the apartment by saying “So guys I hope your not into Bad news But That Show you saw Ran for 20 years, It’s such a great show and all that and you saw a Piece of Disney history there.” Then my friend said “So....What’s the bad news?” I said “Unfortunately, Today was their last showing of it. A 20 Year, Piece of Disney history is Leaving for a new show titled ‘Epcot Forever’ “ It was pretty sad for me.

The faint chants of fans belting out the main chorus of Promise….is heart breaking. Will we ever see a show as impactful as the millennium celebration/Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. Possible? Yes. I’ve lived through that and the OG Fantasmic in Anaheim it can be done. It’s just more rare than it is normally so to speak. Certainly IP driven Iger, Chapek and D’amrow won’t green light anything like this. Just being honest. Not enough IP.
You cannot have been, its amazing. Video does not do it justice. I have been to the efteling and its charming and awesome but its tinpot compared to epcot
Visually, yes. But this is much, much more about the visuals. I'm blind, and I've noticed that the fireworks are almost perfectly in sync with the music. That is no easy feat, and the orchestral score is also a very complicated one with many rhythms, time signatures and emotions built in. Fantasmic has a great orchestral score as well, one of my favourites in fact, but this score does trump it if even just a little.
