Things that had to happen for this result:
First, I had to be forced into using early Max Elixir. This only happened because Ghetsis' Cofagrigus used Protect to take away one of my Earthquakes, AND Hugh's Unfeazent missed Swagger on me, so I couldn't substitute an Earthquake with Rock Slide
Second, I had to miss the Hydriegon damage range, forcing Iris to heal (3 in 8 to OHKO)
Then, Hydreigon had to miss me, so that I didn't go down to low health. If I had, Haxorus would simply attack, and not ever get off a Dragon Dance
Then, I of course, had to miss the Rock Slide.
Then, Haxorus had to choose Outrage as it's move. And then it crit me.
Then, it had to only get a 2 turn usage, so it could change moves. Then, it had to get through that confusion.
And of course, the most important, I had to play like an idiot and not notice and let myself get killed lol.
I'm gonna get a run as good if not better than this one and get my revenge though. But god damn, this is a good laugh. But also a bad laugh.

Not to mention it was confused. If this were the other way around and it was Werster with a pokemon confused on 1hp you KNOW that pokemon's going to hurt itself in confusion without fail.
I like that you upload these. I haven't caught like a single stream live, and it also shows a lot of humility to be able to laugh at your fuck ups and put them up for the world to see. It's cool stuff.

Imagine being a fledgling Psyduck, pretty much new to this world, you got a new trainer but he has never had you battle, and then when he finally sends you out, you see this colossal scary looking high level Pokemon critically injured and then it looks at you, punches itself in the face, and faints.
One of the first genuine run-costing mistakes in a while. The fact you make so few is a pointer to how good you are at speedrunning these in general!

That rock slide miss. That's one of the main reasons i'll never play competitive. everyone recommends movesets with stone edge, focus blast, cross chop, etc. With my luck, low accuracy moves (base 90 or less in my case) NEVER land when i need them to.

Just recently had this fight with Iris and I can confirm, this Haxorus was the biggest obstacle. I thought I had leveled up my Pokemon enough to challenge the Elite 4 plus the champion but heck, I lost my whole team to this thing. Next attempt, I got the static ability with Ampharos and tanked it with Magnezone and Cobalion.
But seeing this makes my experience seem like fighting a Caterpie.
Even if that last earthquake from haxorous was to be tanked under normal circumstances it was a crit too 😩

The Earthquake was a crit - assuming that Outrage would have crit as well then it wouldn't have mattered what move Iris used and wouldn't have mattered if she was confused or not. Shoulda revived.

I recently did a Speedrun in Pokemon White but I ran out of potions and X-items and lost. I picked Lillipup/Herdier/Stoutland for my run because it can evolve far earlier in the game and has great speed and physical stats.
What would you have done instead of Earthquake at the end though?
Max revived psyduck, get hax to use outrage max revive excadrill with his last max revive and go in for the kill.

and the outrage only lasting two turns (if it were three it wouldn't kill) so ya, factoring this and Werster getting fucked on every other avenue RNG wise, I'd say significant RNGod interference was quite prevalent!
The whole problem was that you thought Haxorus would heal that's why you went for the rock slide but it didn't heal and instead went for earthquake to ko excadrill. So if you had broken it's sash first then all you had to do was max revive and win.

It wouldn't be able to take down Haxorus in one hit, so he could go for the Earthquake afterwards and one-shot it.
The haxorus was sashed and Werster felt like fishing for a flinch, but then pokemon happened.

Can someone explain to me why he's using one powerful pokemon but the rest are weak? Is this a Nuzlocke?
It's a speedrun, the best strategy is only battling with the starter and then Excadrill (it gets all the exp), and other Pokemon are sacrificial goats for reviving.

But even if rock slide hit he wouldve get knocked back to focus sash and iris would still heal it up with a full restore. So in the end isnt EQ still a better choice than rock slide? fuck 30% flinch over a guaranteed hit?
