@@yourdemiseishere also, it's because infinity isn't something that exists, we have brains geared for small scale physical interactions, infinity isn't part of that.
it's amazing what a man can get up to if you leave him alone with a sketchpad, wikipedia and the indomitable will to scribe your thoughts into people's souls.
I like that infinity is being handled by a guy who’s very unqualified to explain it. Because no one is actually qualified to explain it. So it fits the theme.
From 2:19 to 2:46, it's just a peak feeling i can't describe. Like facing off against something formidable, knowing that it's hopeless but still pushing forward. Yep, definitely reading this in my spare time.
I'm so glad someone talked about this underrated gem honestly. I love manga that is so unique it just etches itself into your skull for life. I read this manga when it was in the middle part of Act 2, and I love how Tanaka tackles very "Dense" subjects so well. I'm also one for out there art styles, and this has its own flare to keep you engaged. Again I honestly wish that Jump and Jump plus actually took more risks like this.
Genuinely flabbergasted you covered The Vertical World/Tower. It's been the only manga I've favorited like ever. Amazing and hilarious video, keep it up
Man, your channel's really underrated. You really know how to sell a series and your editing, the drawings and the quips you make really add to the experience. Praying this thing takes off 🙏
Thanks to this comment i binged the whole manga in like 8 hrs. Thank you to think i almost ruined it for myself. ❤. One of the best mangas ive read, and ive read too many.
Thanks for the video, it made me remember this gem and that I have to finish it. I'll try to remember to come back and finish this video once I'm done with it.
Well, I guess I forgot how invested I was when I first read this. After looking for it, I read the whole thing start to finish. Glad to have done it, thanks again for the reminder!
I'm so glad that someone has decided to give The Vertical World some attention. It is the biggest hidden gem I have ever read and very easily in my top 5 manga of all time. Thank you for talking about it.
Well now I've got a new, fascinating manga to put on my list, thank you. Btw, if the concept of infinity is something you like to (or can't stop to) ponder, play Universal Paperclips if you haven't. I'm not shilling, that game is "I'm human and my brain isn't designed to comprehend the consequences of my actions if they affect the existence of the universe" kinds of thought-provoking and it may or may not have subliminally programmed me to recommend it to everybody once the topic of infinity is brought up.
ty so much for this video, this type of thing is 100% CERTIFIED HIGH QUALITY "MY JAM" and i literally wouldve never heard of it otherwise. which means im tapping out at like 2 minutes in bc i dont want any spoilers. ill finish the video after finishing the manga i prommy (new way of saying promise)
I didn’t expect this to be a vertical world. I read it 1-2 years ago and really liked it. The only videos about it back then only have a few hundred views (eng). I’m glad it has a popular video now.
Good video. Makes me think of a lot of different things. Another manga of high quality in spite of its bad art that also happens to be published by Jump? MAD. I think you'd like it. The scale and setting? Blame, obviously. The really jarring shounen tone paired with the themes and plot? Sounds like Sun Ken Rock to me.
Infinity is just ever growing. 🤷🏽 It’s not a number, it’s a concept, it’s ever changing so you can’t just record it other than showing that it’s there, with the sign itself.
I could tell by the title of your video alone that I would love the story. you reading this, stop and read the vertical word. You really do not want to be spoiled and the only way to understand it is to read the story
To be honest, kinda disappointed. When i saw the title i thought its gonna handle the real infinity. But its just another concept one. Kinda sad. But manga looks neat, would peobay read it at some point.
“Death isn’t scary because it’s the end, death is scary because it’s forever.”
It makes sense now.
Do you think evolutionarily it is why we are very adverse to understanding infinity? To keep us scared of death, despite our ways to settle it now?
@@yourdemiseishere ... No?!? It's because things scared of death tend to avoid it, living longer and being more likely to have children, evolution.

@@thatoriginalguy6213 Infinity isnt a measurement it's an idea, if you die, that is permanent into infinity.

Fine, I’ll add it to my backlog. See you in 5 years
throwing this in my don’t open playlist i’ll probably open it one day don’t even know what’s in it but it’s definitely stuff i want to come back to

Thanks to you, I started reading the manga. The art can be... something, but the more I read, the more fascinating it gets!
I don't know why you all are hating on the art I thought it was good.
@@centarian2559 tbh it's actually a pretty fitting style even if its the best the author can do

only 3 minutes in and holy shit that intro edit made me instant sub. literal tingles good work man

i read it a year ago and it is glorious. art is sloppy but the idea is so well, badly drawn lines stop getting in the way after a while.
