About playerbase dwindling, I'm not sure if statistics bear out. From season 2-7 at least Europe 8000+ has been increasing. Actually went through the trouble checking: Season 2: 17,776 players 8000+ Season 3: 12,596 Season 4: 22,058 Season 5: 21,094 Season 6: 30,460 It's tough for a lot of casual players to hit 8k during early Season, due to crowding out of lobbies. Towards the end of a Season, the climb gets quite noticeably easier. However at least EU data reflects a rise in 8k+ playerbase
def fair having another opinion and showing other info. I chose the leaderboard on a whim during stream, but it probably wasn't the best choice to show dwindling players/content. Season length is one of the biggest factors for total people over 8k (due to inflation gradually over the season) and last season was the longest season we've had by a pretty large margin. Not to say you're not right about portions of this convo, but we have to weigh that in as well. pair that w/ the mass exodus of 1 server over to EU and we can easily select data that drives our own narratives. Another good example would be global trends of all aggregate HS traffic on twitch. twitchtracker.com/games/138585 Ever since 2021 there's been a nosedive in total traffic. Same w/ TH-cam (though I'd have to show personal data for a lot of the HS creators and I don't feel right doing that in comments here). It's def an interesting discussion to have since it's not a clear-cut "everything bad" or "everything good" scenario.
@bofur I'm actually not in any way in disagreement. I think the gutting of the e-sport scene needs to be a piss poor choice. I've worked in sports (ski racing mostly) for my entire working life, out of which 10 years with youth sports and 11 seasons at pro or semi-pro levels. On top of that, I played poker during the easy money years in early 2000s during the e-poker boom with mediocre success (enough to pay rent by grinding 12 hours a day, while losing sleep over bad runs, don’t recommend) From both worlds, I can say that a professional scene is absolutely the lifeblood of any hobby. Look at Red Bull - it's a ridiculously overpriced energy drink, tastes exactly the same as market option #462, and it churns out more profit than Coca-Cola company, with 1/10th of the sales. All of it on the back of professional sports investments in some global sports (F1, football(soccer) ) and also on obscure ones (riding bicycles over slacklines while doing handstands or w/e). A vibrant competitive scene is vital for traditional sports, too. Less than 1 % of all competitions are televised. Most are volunteer-lead small-scale stuff, out of which no participant will ever go pro. Some are for seniors etc. I've seen the sports federations in their infinite wisdom opt to cut down on youth competitions in order to have more time to train or other nonsense reasons. INVARIABLY participation rates drop, and 10 years down the line international level results nosedive. Whether lobby legends is a good spectator sport or not, having a rich scene of recreational events, qualifiers, and at least occasional big prize pool tournaments lends a ton of legitimacy to a hobby. Practicing something for 4 hours a day as a teenager is suddenly way more a legitimate proposition if bofur made 60k last month winning the Blizzard - Comcast pro tour invitational. TL;DR, I'm not sure how the pbase has changed, and you have better behind the scenes insight on viewership numbers. I think pro scenes are vital to hobbies. Leaderboards statistics show a bit of increase for EU specifically, but the measurement cutoff is pretty arbitrary. For popularity of traditional sports cultural significance > ease of access > how fun the sport is to play.
dude, i try to watch ur streams as often as possible. its hard cause u r from america, but honestly ur polite and calm attitude is so damn nice. for me one of the best and calm hearthstone streamer.
I remember when this was a Bophades typa build It has been long enough that I don't remember when Tarec was first added... Nagas? Avenge meta? Quils? Prizes?
6 minions to eat, 4 demons want to eat one. Add 1 bat, 6 minions to eat, 5 demons want to eat twice. Eat two more minions and realistically 1 is going down the drain in the next two turns, while tree gives a lot of attack to everyone and you have stacked health.
moderate consideration as a side-grade. But the stats on 2nd bat would rarely ever stick and you're spending gold on it. It's probably not worth unless free.
I’m a day 1 hs player, and when bgs came out I just only played that since it came out, why do you think it’s losing so much player base? The game is fun ;-;
If you can remember your mmr, you can scroll through pages by Edition the URL. Change the last number, 40 to see 1000-1025, 80 for 2000-2025. You can pretty quickly triangulate. There's also bot options for searching by name
You missed the real meme. You need Tarecgosa, nightbane, and poet with that build. Keeping your nightbanes single in the beginning so they can hit eachother. This will make sure your Tarecgosa and Titus have a ton of attack + health. The highest attack I hit so far with it has been over 2 billion.
@@bofur Well kinda, 24:50 you had the chance to get nightbane when you grabbed titus, and there was another discovery deathrattle on board + poet on your refresh. Still a nice build but I woulda loved to see a video of this combo. I want to see the video of over 2 billion att and def stats on a minion.
The original meme video with the "83,000,000 HP Tarecgosa" was when I first saw your videos in my feed, what a throwback! :D
I think it was for a lot of people, i was the same. That video exploded!
You made me realize I have been watching him for a long time lol
That’s how I found Bofur too! *pointing Spider-Man meme
Classic bofur action. What a great ride!

Tbh discord server conversation are seemingly busier than ever! Duo really helps pump that playerbase number
This reminds me of a game I had against jeef near the end of quest meta. It makes me miss random target macaw for even more trickster shenanigans

I'm so happy we're in this timeline right now. Truly blessed.
Damn, when you asked if anyone remembered demon Meta i said no. Then you described it and it all came flooding back. God that's a long time ago
what a long strange trip it's been :)
lol i never heard the word meme that much in my entire life!!!
I remember when this was a Bophades typa build
It has been long enough that I don't remember when Tarec was first added... Nagas? Avenge meta? Quils? Prizes?
Tarec was so ancient
@@3takoyakis nahhh ancient is like, pre elementals in BGs. Then you start the modern era, and then you have the release era
had to take a break and come back after I saw two more macaws in shop. the memes were too much for one sitting
Isn't playing the second felbat over the tree more stats? Is board flexibility that valuable?

Good days😂❤
The old classic
I’m a day 1 hs player, and when bgs came out I just only played that since it came out, why do you think it’s losing so much player base? The game is fun ;-;
The opponent 😅
Idk why but you’ve been completely nuked from my algorithm. I thought you were on hiatus! Glad your not lol
Yo, welcome back!
Gg😂
You just sit here and watch this fight!! :D
hahaha it kinda did come off as commanding on rewatch. What a silly moment ;)
Nice one
What a fucking game. Well played, lol
PRAISE MEMES
cool m8
You should try balatro
260k...
Memofur 😁
i am actually shocked there isnt a button you can click on your screen to pay 50 cents and get a "free" golden...that is the activision/blizzard way.
I'd pay
@@triarii9257 well the actual blizzard way is making it $5 not .50 and activating it only for phones...because you have a phone...
Lol😂
Ah yes, emoting the opponent to check whether computer alr finishing fight calculations over or not XD
Classic
I would not be mad to lose to that
I mean last opponent highroll deepblues naga pretty hard
I like how all the effort you put into the trickster ended up not mattering lol
*sheds a single tear*
I remember demon meta, turn 1 triple roll for wrath weaver was better than buying non wrath weaver
Battlegrounds Brawls would be AMAZING. I’ve been dreaming of that forever.
I'm gonna keep harping on it til it becomes a reality! ... im pretty sure that's the way it works, right?
Had no idea about the leaderboards, wish you could search by name. Especially for previous seasons, impossible to find myself.

Only bad part is we gave up true memes for partial memes

i mean it's not like we missed it. It just wasn't offered in a timely manner. Dying isn't exactly a fun meme...
