so thats where all these interviews are coming from... i though he just was repeating what he said in the masterclass, because thats his method. with the part where he said he has to draw the notes, yeah, masterclass rip.
I've never got a chance to see you live but I've heard others play your music and I've used a few of your tracks as well in different sets. I absolutely love playing with your music. you are truly amazing in what you do.
@@miruharabae Understood. I figured that was the reason but these days you can never be too sure. I use to listen to all of that stuff on the way to school every morning, Freshmen year. My “go to’s” were Shambhala 2009, “Paradise City- Evol Intent” (which was my favorite off that years Shambhala mix), “In For The Kill”, “Eyes on Fire-Blue Foundation” etc. although I guess in my case the nostalgia is nice, but that was a rough period in my life for a multitude of reasons. That said that was also the best time of my life, unfortunately I was too depressed to truly grasp that.
Same. I was in high school when my friend told me he wanted me and a couple other buddies to go see Deadmau5 with him. I never heard of him but for the next few days, we hung out and he introduced me to his music and by the time of the concert, I felt like I had been a long time fan. His opener was Skrillex, who I had also never heard of but now it’s crazy looking back I got to see two legends.
Goofing around and play are integral parts of the creative process, play is what teaches us to be creative and creative people find ways to play in everyday life
You can make a dance hit with a laptop sure, but not a masterpiece production like deadmau5 does. The amount of EQ he puts into his music is unparalleled.
I don't think you understand what he meant by that, he was saying he wishes he could just dump his feeling or what he wants it to sound like out on a keyboard or something but isn't feasible either as it's still adjusting assigned sounds, matching BPM in software, etc, and exactly why even a child can do it living in software where everything is made as easy as a child can do it. Believe that's why he's been trying to change to mostly modular synth in the last decade so he's able to make what he's feeling analog
I knew! It took me 20 years to believe it. I have been using Goldwave since 2001 as the last spectrum analyzer for my entire process. That is, before publishing any audio or music to the public, I always look at the audio spectrum through the eyes of the Goldwave application. I've been doing this for over 20 years (I even used Goldwave to mix several stems on one track, before even considering recording on a multi-track). I thought I was the only crazy person doing this. Entrusting the completion of an entire process of dozens of hours of work to a 2 Mb application, which even today would fit on a 1/44 floppy disk. It seems that one of the biggest electronic music producers in the world shares this preference, Deadmau5. For the first time in my life, I saw the use of this application by a great professional. I have never been wrong. Thank you Internet
He was my 5th to 7th fav back in the day... now he's not only at the head of the table, he's one of the last good ones. I'm confident he's not going anywhere.
What he said actually does help. I use the whole mask logic thing with a Covid mask 😅 When I feel uncomfortable some days I just put that on and it helps me when I feel uncomfortable in my skin..
I remember in the good ol rave days in the late 2000s at the height of its infamous underground anonymity, EDM was just purely a life changing escape. Deadmau5 & Kaskade back to back was the best thing that ever happened to going to raves. Then the mainstream had to come in and made so many artists a sellout and releasing trash EDM inspired songs, as the new generation came along and just made it lame. I'm glad I got to see Deadmau5 back in the day. It was just better EDM in general back then
Wearing a mask is so smart. I can’t sing with my eyes open in front of anyone… I sound horrible bc of my nerves… but if I close my eyes for 30 seconds before I sing and drown out anyone that is there, I’ll sing well. I’m not a professional singer by any means, but when I go karaoke in a bar of 100 people, I get a standing ovation lol. But they’re drunk so who knows how much weight that holds lol
I love the guy he is an absolute icon of edm but he essentially created fucking marshmello which i cant forgive but then again he made strobe and paco di bango's world
Don’t judge me, but I just found Deadmou5 last week when I heard, “My Heart Has Teeth” by accident. 😮 And, yes, I live on a farm in the middle of BFE. 🥳
This is me with photography/photoshop compositing… I just try to create something based on a partial idea… then from just messing around it turns into something great
he's a legend, his style has aged very well
This is literally just the masterclass ad
Strobe is the greatest edm song of all time
Shut up
Mans just took the Masterclass Commercial and just edited it.
so thats where all these interviews are coming from...
i though he just was repeating what he said in the masterclass, because thats his method. with the part where he said he has to draw the notes, yeah, masterclass rip.
Astonishing Class…
I 🤍 Snowcone!!!
J’adore Merci
The editing you talk about is just putting a weird reverb effect on it hahahaha
Music is a very great and powerful gift Mr. Mau!!! Michael...😊.
Restored my faith in music in 2008... I was a 90s raver and nothing equated until he showed his shit. ❤

Its so nice to finally see the person behind the mask!!! Michael...😊.
Oh, it's finally nice to see the person behind the mask!!! Michael...
This is a cardinal sin of TH-cam Shorts

@@WhackedoutCookieIYKYK - hint, check the masterclass ad for deadmau5, it was everywhere back in the day and it’s a reference to it
People have no idea his songs and music are god like, fire.. he has always been my number 1.
He then goes on to make some of the most evocative and hypnotic edm music out there! ❤
I've never got a chance to see you live but I've heard others play your music and I've used a few of your tracks as well in different sets. I absolutely love playing with your music. you are truly amazing in what you do.

Long life to Mau5... Dead is only a nickname
Seeing the pic with skrillex makes me cry
Why? Because of how long it’s been?
@@WhackedoutCookie Yes. I loved them when I was in HS & seeing them both together reminds me of good times.
It just takes you back to good times for real too

Man created skrillex
He didn't create him, but he sure as hell wouldn't have been where he is today without Deadmau5
@@TierHarribel as well as a good amount of the music community in general, he's a pretty cool dude
This dude is the edm goat
I've never seen him without his mask, been following him over a decade ❤
NOW IVE SEEN THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK!!! THANK YOU SIR!!! MICHAEL...
Ngl the dude is hilarious, he hates wearing that helmet and when he does, he looks so frustrated 😂😂
I love Deadmau5
I love Joel. I watched him make "there might be coffee" live back in like... 2012. It's still my favorite of his to this day.
I love you mau5

I wish I could learn how to produce music from you. You have made a huge difference in my life.
There are classes he's created and lectured...
To be a electronic music producer is often a balancing act between Compression and Depression.
