Crystal Maze is a classic! I also enjoy a bit of Takeshi's Castle from time to time. Challenge is a tv channel in the UK (maybe other places too?) that's all game shows, it's brilliant.

    • @macmac277

Put some kind of ceiling a few inches away from the toaster top. That way it wont jump away. Like a cardboard box. Don't cover it. Just put the cover on (Maybe glue or tape) the wall facing flat above the toaster.
Or, if you have a blender or something with a handler higher than your toaster you can put that blender or w/e next to the toaster where the handle is just above the toast holes.

I loved Distraction haha! It was hosted by Jimmy Carr and I remember people had to answer questions while putting pegs on their face and their buzzers were surrounded by cacti. Then when a contestant won a car for example, they would have to name 5 things from a category while the losing contestants smashed up their new car haha

One of my favorite shows was Fort Boyard. A european game show where they had to do challenges in different rooms to collect keys and with those keys they can open gold lockers at the end. was shot in an old prison of the coast of France. It aired here in the 90's in the Netherlands and they remade it 2 years ago.

Super Market Sweep was a great one. If I didn't know I'd face consequences, I would randomly recreate it on my own at local stores, or trick strangers into believing they were on a new version of the show and watch as they tore through the store looking for the bonus items. Seems like an entertaining time for me.

Rhett, we had a toaster that didn't pop when I was growing up. It also didn't have a button to push. It automatically went down when you put bread in it. It was from the 1960s, and I don't think they make them like that anymore. I don't know why, because it was great. I think my parents got it for a wedding gift and it lasted for more than 30 years.

When I was 8 I ran into the sliding glass door on the observation deck of the L&C in Nashville. I was racing my cousin to the elevator, hit the glass so hard it sounded like a gun went off and I wound up in heap on the floor. I learned two things that 4th of July 1. Don't run around on observation decks bc you might fall off. 2. The L&C stands for life and casualties.

Another thing about Japan - most studio audiences are primarily female, as it's at times looked down upon for guys to be "wasting their time" at something that isn't work during the day. Both an unfair thing for the guys who want to see a show and for women in general (because they're, what, not important enough to be needed during the day?)

chezmix64 I don't see how defending a culture shows preference to said culture...He's not denouncing his own culture, he is respecting a foreign culture being criticized by someone not from that country. If you're going to use slang to insult someone, at least use it properly or you end up looking like an even bigger moron.

    • @BazookaTooth707

    • @chezmix64
      @chezmix64 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

***** The person wasn't criticizing the culture, just saying it was odd to him. and he went defending japanese culture he was saying "Leave Japanese culture alone!!" Which is usually used when one feels strongly about the culture. Had he simply said "Its just another culture. Or something of the sorts, it would've been much more defending it, and much less loving the culture.

    • @wisteria2909

I loved "Cram," where contestants had to stay up all night and read all the useless trivia that they would be tested over, and then attempt various trivia challenges without the opportunity for sleep, and "Russian Roulette" was a pretty fun show (the contestants answer questions, and if they get the answer wrong, there's a chance they'll be dropped through a trapdoor beneath them). Also, the original Match Game was great too.

My favorite isn't a game show in the traditional sense but it's sort of reality show meets game show-- Solitary. It's like a psychological experiment show where the contestants compete against each other (but really themselves) to eventually win a cash prize. They are deprived of sleep, food, and human contact and given physical and mental tasks to complete. The person who quits first is eliminated, but they have no idea what the other contestants are doing our when they have quit.
It's seriously the best reality show I have ever watched and I loathe reality tv. It's free on Hulu and I HIGHLY recommend it.

I remember there was a game show in Canada called "Just like Mom"...mom and their kids complete one another family..then at the end they have bonus round where they have to cook something...
Win, Lose or Draw with Bert Convy...Family Feud with Richard Dawson.

I too enjoy family feud montages. The show is hilarious with Steve Harvey and I love how he calls people out on their ridiculous answers.

Best game show we had in Brazilian television was called "Passa ou Repassa". Similar questions to Jeopardy, but with lots of crazy mini games.

My two favourite game shows are Takeshi's Castle and The Interceptor. Takeshi's castle was a Japanese gameshow that is/was broadcasted on Challenge and it is Japanese people going through weird mini games like scaling a wall then sliding into muck, walking across a rope bridge with a golden football whilst the antagonists shot footballs at you out of an air cannon, domino runs, running into doors that could be a plank of wood, a net, thin bit of paper or hiding own of the antagonists behind it.
The interceptor was an English gameshow where two people were selected and dropped at different points in a field a few miles away from a town and they needed to first find where they are to go to on a map then find a briefcase with a key in it that opened the other persons case and both had a key in it that opened a third case containing money. The twist is they are timed and they have basically a hitman, the interceptor, who would follow BOTH of them and try shoot there case so it wouldn't open. The weirdest part about the interceptor is he was dressed like agent 42 from the hitman games...

I always grew up with toaster ovens and so the first time I had toast from a standard "pop" type toaster, I was a bit scared by it being done.

What about Solitary? They separate people into small rooms, where they're totally isolated and only have a computer to talk to.They have to complete extreme challenges to stay in the room, (though they can leave at any time), but the aim is to be the last person in their room - not knowing if the others have left or not. It's really intense.
(There's also already a toaster with a slow rise function, i think it's by Breville.)

Do an episode where you just go through the mythical wheel and do scenarios and the crew has to vote who does it best. That would be a great game show and GMM episode!

So I don't eat a lot of toast nor do the people I know (from Norway) but I had a toaster that shot out the toast like a valcano. The bread flew across the kitchen!
