- Got my hands on the 2024 Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme with the 1.0 CVT 90 HP engine and test it on a nice mud offroad trail. Is the Extended Grip feature on this car a game changer for the offroad adventures? Let's find out now! Thank you for your support!

It’s impressive what this car can do. As you have said the combination of CVT, L mode, extended grip and high ground clearance makes them pretty capable. I wonder how it would be with all terrain tyres.
Same obstacles I passed with my old Focus II 2.0TDCI with heavy diesel over the front axle and winter tyres. That car had not Extend Grip or other marketing bullshits, only standard ESP. In any case, it is really impresive, what Dacia can do only with FWD. Good tyres are mandatory for that roads. Now, I have Vitara 2023 4x4. And when warranty will end, I will be thinking very hard about new Duster III 4x4.
BTW, using a car with a belt in CVT off-road is highly discouraged. The belt wears out very quickly.
I think A/T tyres would be a good replacement for extended grip feature. We have a spanking new Sandero Stepway III LPG in our family, still a bit hesitant to take it off road but it was bought for exactly those conditions in mind
Good idea with the tires. Might be a game changer even on a 2WD car. Worth trying, if you can find the same size as the ones on the Sandero Stepway 👍💪
Thanks 🙏
I bought this car two weeks ago, today I drove the first 1000 km. LPG engine, I'm happy with this car! But honestly, if I lived in this village, I would take a DUSTER 4x4
Could this Sandero Extreme have more "light off road" capability than a standard 4x2 Duster, that has no extended grip?
Thanks for your video, I have a car like this, even the same color, 100 hp. LPG, but I think that on standard Continental tires it will not be able to drive on this track. But thanks anyway!
Great video. Can you explain the L-Mode function?
The L mode keeps the revs on the engine higher, therefore when need it, the engine goes reved up for longer periods and is not lowering the revs so the belt on the CVT transmission is not put on high pressure.
So this CVT doesn't have a manual mode, to choose "gears"?
@@DusterCoolTravels So this CVT doesn't have a manual mode, to choose "gears"?
@@andrepereira1796 C= continuos...= No steps (Gears)
@@kernelpanic4727 Thank you for the answer. I know that Mitsubishi has some kind of defined positions on the CVT that simulate gears on the manual mode. I was wondering if the Sandero would also have that.
Think the Extreme was any different fro the expression or Essential? They have the exact same engine and structure.
Some extra options for the extreme. The Extended Grip being the most important
@@DusterCoolTravels I'm curious here. By 'extended grip' you mean the option of mounting a 110 engine instead of a 100 which is the best you can get in the other versions? Or am I missing something else?
Extended grip is for better traction when needed.
Where did you film it?
North of Romania. Brodina
Have a 2nd hand stepway for over a year. Bought it for all the usual reasons. Cost running costs. But never considered, because it's higher, about off roading. What I did consider, its easier to get in and out of , I'm 6, 3". Easier over speed bumps without bottoming out. If clipping the kerb when parking I'm not looking at sraped alloys and good driving view. But as for off road, front wheel drive a 3 cylinder turbo engine that has little torque with an engine that has the power delivery, of a dog on a lead that has just seen a cat, forget it.
The tce 90 is actually pretty good. And this is coming from somebody with a 2.5v6
So descurcat bine mașina
That's not extreme mud. It's not even mud... it's wet land. It's firm below, any light vehicle passes through there...
Extreme is the name of the trim level😁
