I have the quest pro, the resolution on paper isn’t much more than the 2, but the pro has two screens instead of one, it’s also rotated 45 degree so you don’t see the pixel array. And the screen has local dimming. Which makes a massive difference in addition to the lenses. For pcvr streaming, eye tracking is pretty nice. For eyetracked foviated encoding, through steamlink. I wish the 3 has face and eye tracking
@@highpraise-highcritic yup yup, the lenses are pretty nice. but on the 3 I really wish it had just eye tracking, and Qled screens like whyyyyy. it makes such a massive difference.
At the moment Quest Pro is only needed for those who sit in VRchat. I used to have quest pro which I sold, bought quest 3 the other day and went to quest pro again. Just for the sake of face tracking, if we look at the face tracking only two vr headsets have it, quest pro and pico 4 pro. And I will say this, if on quest 3 was any face tracking with the same characteristics but the price is more expensive, I would have taken it and left only it, because on quest 3 the picture is more pleasant, and I'm not saying that on quest pro it is terrible no, it's just really worse. Quest pro is necessary for us who play vrchat. And for such a price tag it is clear no one is not going to take it. Quest Pro is not for everyone.
The Quest Pro is pretty amazing for PCVR for the right price and you forgot another amazing thing it does better than the Quest 3, 2, etc. I've used a Quest 3, Quest 2, Index and a Quest Pro but I prefer the Quest Pro for Wireless PCVR on VRChat. Not just for the Eye and Face Tracking but you missed out on a massive advantage it has in its specs. It features a QLED Display with Local Dimming which offers far better colours and the local dimming allows the blacks to be far better in darker environments. The resolutions are both pretty decent as it is so I'd say the colours on the Quest Pro making the LCD on the Index, Quest 2, Quest 3, etc all look washed out is far more noticeble. Lastly, in the UK, you can easily pick up a New Quest Pro for a similar price to a New Quest 3 on eBay. I'd still upgrade both hesdset's comfort from default as they're both horrendous without modifications (albeit the Quest 3's joke of an elastic headstrap is far worse, the Quest Pro is mainly just missing a top strap and the stock back and front pads are just too hard and thin). But yeah, I hope this helps you see why the Quest Pro is still a very decent option for a decent price for people who want a good PCVR headset with full eye and face tracking + very good colours & blacks (especially for PCVR VRChat Players).
I thoroughly agree love the Q3 and Pro, don’t regret owning either. But outside of VRC and any other social platform, I just don’t see the purpose of purchasing the Pro. That much I think we have to admit
I’ve owned all 3, even getting the Quest Pro after owning the Quest 3. Being that I’m a VRC player I enjoy both headsets. And yes the eye and face tracking are really worth it
The Vr market is so interesting every headset has different features priorized but nothing can beat the all rounder that is the quest 2 in terms of mass appeal. I find it fascinating seeing what different companies prioritize, Sony is priortizing eye tracking, haptics and an oled panel for PSVR 2, Pimax are aiming for the highest resolutions and FOV. Bigscreen is focusing on making the most lightweight headset. It is cool having so many options, but sometimes you take a gamble on a headset like the quest pro and it becomes obsolete so quickly or there are unexpected downsides. It is interesting seeing the priorities for each headset, and the compromises that are made. Makes vr super fun to keep up with
Hey there, as a current quest pro owner I feel the need to make some comments about the video. Also, I want to clarify that I have owned an OG HTC Vive and I currently own a Quest 1, Valve index and the Quest Pro, so the QP has not been my first VR headset. First of all, why did I buy the quest pro? Face tracking, that's why. The quest pro is, still, the BEST option for full face tracking if you live in EU or USA. The only other option is the HTC Vive Pro Eye with HORRIBLE resolution and lenses. The quest pro also has local dimming and QELD displays wich make visuals great even compared to the quest 3. Now, do I recommend everyone buys a QP? Hell no. If the only thing you want to do with it is play games go for the Q2 or Q3. But, if you're interested in face tracking, there is a huge community of people dedicated to adding support for some social games; and currently the quest pro has started to become more popular with that community. I don't think comparing the QP to the other Quests is productive or needed, specially when you take into account the majority of people looking to buy a VR headset don't even know it exists. What I think people should see it as is something like full body tracking. FBT is a niche within a niche, but recently it has started to see a lot more people in the market due to how popular it is in games like VRChat. If you look back, in 2019 for example, a LOT less people were using FBT compared to now. If a lot more people show meta how passionate they are about eye/face tracking and how much it adds to social VR I think it will be a lot more common to see headsets with it in the future. So yes, the quest pro (while small) has it's place in the market and it should be talked and discussed more about. That being said, I really liked the video but it would've been nice if you talked about how the quest pro's userbase is even ti this day (slightly) increasing even with it's shortcomings.
As owner the Quest Pro absolutely agree with u. It has no analogues. VIVE sucks with Facial Tracker it's not even no longer sale lmao. Quest Pro + SlimeVR + Virtual Desktop - its the best choice for fully wireless FBT and FaceTracking
the quest pro is a good headset and i used it as my daily driver thats if you can get a good price on the used market got mine for 650 and compared to the quest 3 , its a way better experience overall (minus controllers, but i use index so doesnt matter to me)
The Very Thing That Made VR Unaccessible In The Beginning Was The $1000. Price Tag It's What Basically Almost Buried PcVR. The Ray Of Sunshine Wasn't Only The Standalone capabilities But The Asking Price Of The Oculus Go And Once The Oculus Quest #1 Came Along With Better Capabilities And Just About The Same Pricing As The Psvr And Untethered It Was A No Brainer.. So The New VR Community Peaked But Soon As That Unattractive Price Tag Of $1500. Reared It's Ugly Head Once Again Things Didn't Totally Fall Apart Mostly Thanks To The Quest 2 And It's Pricing It Just Felt Like The Way To Go.. VR Is Still Evolving And The Community Is Still Growing So As long As The Pricing Is Fair Thing's Will Continue To Flourish. But Asking For Something Like $3k-5k Things Will Tank Very Fast Especially If The Library Or Apps Don't Accommodate The Asking Price.
I bought both preorderd Quest Pro and Q3/512Gb and couldn't be happier having both of these. I mainly use my QPro/rtx4090 with flight and racing sims using a Link cable and I use my Q3 for everything else (standalone and wireless PCVR with Air Link or Virtual Desktop). Both my Q1 and Q2 are now long retired. While I agree that nobody should buy a new QPro anymore, I also don't think buying a Q2 makes much sense anymore as well since we are already seeing Q3 enhancements and upcoming exclusives. Probably best for those that cannot afford a Q3 to wait for the upcoming Q3s imho.
i got one a year ago from a guy i saw trying to sell it for months on marketplace and i told him hey meta just dropped the price so would you sell it for 700 and he said yes. I'm really happy with it. i'm using it up to 16hrs a day for work and to play games. i would say the worst for me are the controllers since they have a bug where they overheat and disconect all the time in the middle of playing VR games so i stick to flatscreen games on big VR screen for now. i can't wait for the deckard or maybe the samsung XR for my next headset since i love VR games just not on the QP.
VR is good I just want the same amount of games that I get on PC. I don't think games need to be made for VR it should just be another way to experience them without doing any work. Games should be about raw written with as little translation as possible.
Can you help me? Whenever I play My quest 2 I need to cast my screen to play and if I don’t cast my screen then I get a great screen. Can you help me fix it?

The quest pro is a lot more costly to make than the quest 3. They can't just do that. The only way they could do it is removing face tracking (wich is the only reason most people buy a QPro anyways).
@@SirWaffly Mf get off vr chat and touch grass my nga. $1,500 is a scam for what you got and just to move a couple more 3D pixels on a game with 30+ year old chronically online redditors and freaks in society is absolutely hysterical and you know it don’t you.💀
You forgot to add that the quest3 is one ugly lookin MF, I went for the Quest Pro instead. Just bought one today BNIB for $580. The location of the USBC on the quest3 goggles is poorly designed being that it is on the head-strap mounting point. Whereas on the Pro it's on the machine itself. It is normal to pull the headset off your head when you're done for the day, pulling too much will break the USBC socket right off the quest3 headset. Seen it happen too many times. People discount the entire pipeline for visual clarity and fidelity .. and just compare resolution.
