He wasn't that difficult compared to some of the other gremlins you've had to deal with. Maybe he just acts out because of the environment he's in in the other salon? Stressed out dogs, noise, plus the fact that he hates his feet touched, could cause tantrums.
That or the salon he usually goes to doesn't have the same equipment. The salon I work at doesn't have a harness to keep dogs suspended for their legs/nails and I can imagine this dog would be much more difficult without one
I agree because when you take your dog to a groomer there's probably other dogs there that are barking because they're stressed and it's noisy and it could be overwhelming. But when you're doing these videos you have one dog or cat at a time and it's pretty quiet and it's not so stressful for any animal😊
I could imagine his regular groomers anticipate his behavior and he can sense their tension, making him even _MORE_ nervous, resulting in being crazier. I also wonder if it's a private salon like yours, or if there are other stressed dogs in the room at the same time. He did very well with you, Vanessa...no surprise. You're amazing. 🥰
I wash and dry my pup at home. She’s only 6 months, but she’s in love with the noise from the blow dryer. The vacuum is another story. But after a bath, she welcomes the warmth.
@@SagebrushRambles Not entirely true. Each dog is different. Also home training and public training is vastly different. Dogs are natural empaths. He senses the trepidation of the groomers and responds accordingly. And as Vanessa frequently, if they've been quick'd before, they don't forget it. And it's entirely possible that he has.
Kudos to the owners for seeking this route to LEARN about their dog and how he is behaving instead of seeking another groomer/putting up with the extra cost/denying their dog's behaviour and claim the groomer is money grabbing. The only alternative is home grooming to watch or DIY and see what's happening which a lot of owners just can't do. I wish I had a Vanessa on this side of the world to watch how my dog changes her behaviour.

Yes, this is great for them! They can work on things with him after seeing it recorded, and they can look at their normal grooming situation and either give advice to the groomers or possibly seek out a different one that might suit him better. It could be that there's too much going on in a normal dog groomers and he might do better with, like, a mobile grooming unit.
It could be that their current groomer is the one who "quicked" Milo so now he doesn't trust that groomer. It may behoove them to find another groomer for Milo. That could solve the problems!
I don't mind the long shaggy ears when they match the head shag. It's when they shave the face/head and leave really long ears and fluff them up that I think they look stupid, whether it's a male or female dog. But all over shagginess, it's cute. Short ears are also cute, as long as it's not a huge contrast with the face.
As a person with anxiety disorder you are very calming Vanessa. u treat these pets with such calmness n empathy.. i started to watch you because i am a dog lover, but stayed because of ur temperment.. sometimes when i feel stressed all i need to do is just watch these videos n it calms me down.. thank you so much ❤
I used to groom our Shitzu myself but he was terrible about getting his nails cut. It took two other people to hold him while I cut the nails and he would be squirming and trying to nip at me the whole time. After a couple of years of this we took him to a groomer just to get his nails trimmed. I was so nervous that he would be scared. I had my sister go with them into the back while they did it. I was too nervous to watch. The guy stood there like a little pro and let them cut his nails!! They didn’t even have to hog tie him. It took like five minutes! I never tried to trim his nails myself again. Apparently, just like some children, certain dogs behave better for other people.
My poodle would not let me near him with nail clippers or scissors, but he never gave the groomers any trouble at all. He knew I didn't know what I was doing.
@@mimisor66yes! My cat will let the vet do anything. Rectal thermometer? No worries. Getting her in the crate to go she tears holes out of my face, and wrecks the house. Comes back and sulks.
Even with my sister holding him, my small dog doesn't let me trim his nails. He has always been very tolerant of professional groomers. As he is older now with some pain I hold him up and contain his squirms so the short groomer can access his paws easier.
Similar experience with my Pit. They quicked her when she was a puppy (in an effort to get her used to having her feet handled-the same vet tech had just trimmed them). Once she found her strength no one was going to trim her nails and survive it so we had to resort to grinding them completely off once a year, under anesthesia. Her vet said no more after the third time and we finally figured out that as long as I wasn’t in the room, she was pretty easy going for veterinary procedures.

Definitely short hair round the ears and well done Vanessa in knowing his triggers and coming up with a plan to cut his nails, he hardly noticed you doing them. Personally i love long ears on dogs, but to each their own, you are so great with these "problematic" dogs. I used to work at a kennel and would help the groomer often, we definitely had worse behaving dogs that she didn't upcharge for. I appreciate the owner trying to learn to better help their dog💜
That's interesting about the Maltese breed, I had one when I was younger and she was one of the most chill, well behaved dogs we ever had and didn't need all that much training either. I guess it really depends on the dog.

Good Job ! you have the patients of a saint, Love the short ears,
Very good dog and talented dancer!
He is adorable. Vanessa, you have such a bib way with animals. I thought he’d be much more difficult! But your energy is always calm. I wonder if the other groomer’s salon is busy and loud and/or they anticipate problems. Animals sure pick up on that. Great job.❤
Love how cute he looks and he did soooo well bless him. Definitely short hair round the ears and well done Vanessa in knowing his triggers and coming up with a plan to cut his nails, he hardly noticed you doing them. I'd love to know if Milo's old groomer watched your video and hopefully got some tips!
Milo looks fantastic. I think he did better with you because of your energy. You remain calm but in charge.❤
LOVE the short ears better too!!! Excellent job as always Vanessa!
Definitely think the long ears look much nicer. I’m not really concerned if a such a small dog looks manly or not lol
Yeah, that's a pretty silly case of Pointlessly Gendered. Lol.
I can't imagine being worried if any dog looks manly tbh
Personally i love long ears on dogs, but to each their own, you are so great with these "problematic" dogs. I used to work at a kennel and would help the groomer often, we definitely had worse behaving dogs that she didn't upcharge for. I appreciate the owner trying to learn to better help their dog💜
He was tap dancing to make huskies jealous 😂😂😂😅
Tail just kept wagging, what a good boy ❤ 🐾
Always funny when she treats little Fluffy and Spot like Hannibal Lecter. How come dogs don't get a treat?
No treats for bad behavior. Don't wanna reinforce that
@@lisanguyen6324 But cats get treats and they're always bad, it's usually before to relax them.
She gives dogs treats all the time. Maybe Milo didn’t want treats or his owners didn’t want him to have any treats.
So adorable 😍 💖 he looks just like my old blue and tan yorkie ❤❤
That's interesting about the Maltese breed, I had one when I was younger and she was one of the most chill, well behaved dogs we ever had and didn't need all that much training either. I guess it really depends on the dog.
He's like a proper little dog now. He looks great xx
Love his short ears - thinking he likes them too!! So cute
You are truly a blessing to so many of these dog and cat parents.
Aww, Milo is very cute & love his tail wagging.
I love his ears short too. Much better !
He looks adorable! You did such a wonderful job! He did a pretty good job too, good Milo!
You did an amazing job with him and his ears are way cuter now.
Beautiful job again. Thank you and have a great day.
Why would long fur on the ears make a dog look girlie? How does a dog even look girlie in the first place? I am so confused
It feels girlie
@@EVELYNE-ELIANA It's a dog
@@WhiteWolf-lm7gjso is your mum
Long hair is a feminine trait i guess. I dunno man 🤷
@@WhiteWolf-lm7gj sooo there's not a girl dog??? What is your point?
He looks adorable. You did a great job. The short ears are wayy better!
Eeeekkkk cuteness overload ❤ what a gorgeous boy as always another amazing groom
He looks so cute and adorable with his trimmed face, you can see his sweet liitle smile now. Well done Vanessa, you have the magic touch with the nervous and scared furbabies. 🤗♥️👍
4:46 Vanessa’s face card did not decline. Hair looking fetch 10/10
Love the short ears! He looks adorable!🥰
Happy doggo at the end 🐶
Short ears definitely so much cuter! Great transformation. Hope he keeps coming back to you!
5:44 impressive dance movies, Milo
Aww, he is so handsome now! I agree with you on the short ears. Much better. ❤
