Awesome video guys so well done and I can attest that the sound at IV was next level world class! Purple audio is going places and the team behind it is the reason. Mad love xxxxx
Great to hear some background around that very special system at the final IV. Was probably the best big stage sound iv heard outside of Europe up until this point. Excellent weekend and I have huge respect for sound guys they defs worked the hardest out of anyone at the festival.
I swear I made a comment about the sound system at least once every 30 minutes on average this year. I found it incredible how well the sound travelled; how loud it was, yet how I was still able to easily hear people when they spoke directly to me. Overall it was just incredibly well balanced, felt the sound wash through my whole body. The highs were punchy and crisp, yet rounded off smooth with each hit, wasn't offensive on the ears at all. Convincingly the best system I've ever experienced. Heading to Labyrinth this year, will be curious to see how the two compare.
Every 30mins, that may be a record! Thanks for your feedback it means a lot to us. Let us know how you go at Labyrinth we'd love to know which system you preferred :)
of course its good but dont forget that there is void and lambda labs on the market too, i wouldn`t choose a best between them(it´s a lie i love lambda labs), they all delivere outstanding good sound if the soundengineers do their jobs well
Should have built the stacks in wood built into the ground easyer to get round difference in heights would have been easyer and looked and sounded better also ive tryed it this way and there is a difference 💪🐸✌️great sound is the most important thing i will try and get to your next festival good luck🤓
Left right sub clusters and tons of point source speaker put together. must’ve sounded different for every person in the audience. guess this was the standard before line arrays were invented 30 years ago
@@wally7856exactly. This is the dumbest sound idea ever. Hey let’s completely avoid the industry standard of a line array. Besides the fact that this will sound like shit, it will also be a pain to rig. L acoustic rig and call it a day!
A lot of speculation and not much experience of the system in this thread here, classic jaded soundy. I think i'll listen to the comments of people that were actually in front of it, but i'll bite anyway. @TylerMarletteNY - The subs were operating asymmetrically, therefore mitigating power alley. The left and right clusters were operating between 58hz - 85hz, split down the middle, the middle delta array was operating from 58hz down. @wally7856 - Each row of Evo's were delayed individually, mitigating comb filtering (yes, digital signal processing exists, crazy right?) @jonathanberube5056 - The "industry standard" is the industry standard because it makes money sense, and aural sense second. I won't stoop to your level though, I have so much time for a great sounding line array (L'acoustics, d&b KSL) but when you are given artistic freedom to create an experience with sound, human effort and time that no plug 'n play line array could match, all of your points are pretty moot.
Hi ABCCBA, We use both MC2 and FFA amps at the moment. Most of our processors are now NST and we do prefer them. The 124's really do sound amazing. The F121 and 221 will always be a staple but there is really something special in the tone and sound of the 124.
Talked about this sound system for months and months after attending
Such a good insight into festival sound, I need to get myself in front of a Purple Audio system this summer!!!
We'd love to have you Front and Center!

Thank you for your feedback!! Mad respect for acknowledging the work we put into this final year. Peace!

You've perfectly described Funktion One. Sounds brilliant, easy on the ears, can turn to your neighbor and actually talk to them.
Funktion-One the best system sound in the word

Great video guys, we’ll deserved ❤
Thanks for the support Trevor!
Full throttle entertainment did some great F1 rigs. Audio feed also.
That system looks great.

I guarantee it sounded the exact same for every person in the audience - like absolute garbage. Comb filtering shyte for everyone.

@@wally7856why would there be any comb filtering. The speakers are splayed to the degree of dispersion

Hello! Do you use MC2 of FFA amps for it? Is that F124 realy better sonds like F221? Thank you for an answear..
