I've used the antlers for knives handles but I largely give any bones to the dogs. I don't have mounts or anything. No heads of rabbits ,deer, coyotes (don't eat them obviously but can't have them kill dogs or livestock), squirrel (you ever make "wings" out of them? Good meat to do that with.), Wild hogs (screws up crops so they gotta go. They do make good sausage, bacon and pork chops and the dogs love the rest). Ever wonder what some of these folks would do if they didn't have convenience or tech? I learned from my dad and grandpa how to survive then taught my son's what they taught and what I learned. Used homemade bows, reloads, traps and snares. I'm in my late 50's and I'm still learning new tricks.

WOW I never thought of doing some of those things before. You have me wondering what more I could be doing and how much I may have wasted. Never even thought of musical instruments or needles. So on the needles for sewing leather, are there certain bones/antlers better than others for that and do they work better than conventional needles? I mess around with leather a bunch (I don't tan it or anything I have a guy I give the hides to and he keeps most but gives me whatever I may need. I know how but don't have the patience to be honest.), I like to make flogs,whips (when my hands work right now days) bracelets, handles, bands etc. You got me curious on what more I could use hides and whatnot for. I have used animals teeth and bones for arrowheads just gotta do some shaving and grinding with a stone.

I have no problem with Fishers hunting but he didn't respect the animals and showed extremely bad taste and judgement in killing the mother and baby baboon. I hunt mostly for food and won't hang the heads on my wall after taxidermy. I use all of the animals that I can.

@@rumenoakabob9973 Well, the antlers I have are sheds, they and " trophies" are used to make buttons, knife handles powder measures and other things. I know many other people who feel the same way. Of course I know several others who feel different..I use the meat, hide and bone of what I hunt
I've used the antlers for knives handles but I largely give any bones to the dogs. I don't have mounts or anything. No heads of rabbits ,deer, coyotes (don't eat them obviously but can't have them kill dogs or livestock), squirrel (you ever make "wings" out of them? Good meat to do that with.), Wild hogs (screws up crops so they gotta go. They do make good sausage, bacon and pork chops and the dogs love the rest). Ever wonder what some of these folks would do if they didn't have convenience or tech? I learned from my dad and grandpa how to survive then taught my son's what they taught and what I learned. Used homemade bows, reloads, traps and snares. I'm in my late 50's and I'm still learning new tricks.

WOW I never thought of doing some of those things before. You have me wondering what more I could be doing and how much I may have wasted. Never even thought of musical instruments or needles. So on the needles for sewing leather, are there certain bones/antlers better than others for that and do they work better than conventional needles? I mess around with leather a bunch (I don't tan it or anything I have a guy I give the hides to and he keeps most but gives me whatever I may need. I know how but don't have the patience to be honest.), I like to make flogs,whips (when my hands work right now days) bracelets, handles, bands etc. You got me curious on what more I could use hides and whatnot for. I have used animals teeth and bones for arrowheads just gotta do some shaving and grinding with a stone.
