The actors audition for sure. I remember hearing about when they cast for Fish Upon The Sky, Winny (from WinnySatang) was going to have the main role of Pi alongside Pond as Mork. But then they put them together and felt like the chemistry just wasn't there. Phuwin was going to have the role of Meen and be paired with Neo playing Duen as they were already a pairing in Cause You're My Boy. So yeah, the actors do audition but ofc, as with every audition, the roles go to who they feel it fits best. I do think some directors (especially those that work with gmmtv) already have an idea of some cast they want though for their series
