For those having trouble finding magnetic sheets (especially in the US), hardware stores carry 24"x36" flat sheets of galvanized steel in the heating-duct area, usually really cheap - $15 or less. Some tin-snips and double-sided gorilla tape, and you're in business, for all sizes of boxes.
For anyone that doesn't know, here is a piece of advice. Clean the bottom of the box before you stick the mat on, the adhesive will stick better to a clean surface.
Great video! I love the idea of warmags. It seems so much easier than dealing with finicky neodymium magnets. I'd like to magnetize the underside of the box lid as well, so that you can store more miniatures upside down in the 9L boxes. Do you know what product to buy from them to do that? Since the base shee seems too large for the lid.
I'm sure they do have that option on their website. The white one I put on top of the lid should fit inside. It's a great system, I love how easy, clean, and quick it is, especially if you only want to magnetise one model you've been working on, you can just do it instantly.
Those base sheets look really cool, but dont think I would swap just using cheap 6x2mm magnets with a bit of green stuff on the underside of the bases.
Love this storage solution! Really the only missing element is a bag to carry them in. With that in mind I have a question for you! If you still have your KR Multicase bag, would you be able to check if the Really Useful Boxes fit within them? I was checking the measurements and I think the RUBs are about the same dimensions as KRs card cases that go in the bag. Thank you for your help!
Great to hear, glad the video was helpful. You can get the magnets in 1mm or 2mm heights. The ones I use in the video add 2mm to the height. I've been using these since I made the video on Bolt Action, Warhammer and Moonstone and not had any problems at all. Really good system, I love it.
I want to see the magnets fit inside so as not to raise the height, but that would be a nightmare to get them to install flat because the undersides of bases can change suddenly for various arcane reasons it seems.
I met some of the team from Warmag at the UK Games Expo and they told me they designed these to fit underneath and raise the base. I think that could be a draw back for some games for sure, but I think for Moonstone it's a great combo. You can also cut the magnets with a strong pair of scissors, so there is potential to fit then under neath various base types, but then you'd get the same steps with milliput and glue, which would put me off doing that. You'd also need to make sure you got a large enough surface area, so a few potential negatives I think.
@@tabletopskirmishgames For me the holy grail is having a flush flat professional finish on the base. What they did with the boxes is legit however. The sticker material should actually strengthen the bottom of the poly-(not sure if its -propylene or -ethylene) box bottom. I will stick with neodymium disk magnets, but they should still pull to that material just fine.
I've had real terrible finding some magnetic sheets sized to the boxes in Canada. I don't know if this is really a solution since it's in the UK. I'd been planning to get some thin sheets of metal to affix to the bottom of the boxes and just have the magnets on the minis. I'd probably still rather use small rare earth magnets stuck to the inside of the bases. Don't care much for raising the height of the whole model.
Nice tip from @komsomoletz828 about the heating-duct sheets. Yeah that is a potential draw back, but they have all different sizes so smaller ones could be inset.
Love the video, but getting something, even non-monetary, DOES count as some level of sponsorship; but at the same time, I think you made it clear you got it from them, and were transparent.

Very true.
I’ve used sheet magnets in tubs then CA glued washers (from Princess Auto or probably Harbor Freight) to the bottom of the mini.
Interesting possibility for the magnetic game I'm working on. Thanks for sharing. Gonna have to try them out.
Brilliant, could be good for tokens of some kind

omg i just built one of these boxes but now I want the mars one!!!
The themed sheets are really cool.
@@tabletopskirmishgames my army is on a mars style basing scheme so it would just look so cool!

Yes! I use my KR hard case bag for the really useful boxes and they fit great.
That is a cool way to do it
I'm a big fan of this system; clean, quick and easy
Thanks needed this just in time
Brilliant, glad it helped, thanks for watching 👊
Been using these for a while now (some Necron lover recommended them) and they are pretty damn good.
That's great! I like how easy they are to out on the models, no messing around with super glue.
Thanks so much for this, exactly what I was looking for before purchasing. Can I ask how much height the base adds to a standard 32 base please

Fantastic. I’ll check the website.
Nice one! Hopefully they can do a good deal on shipping for you.
This is really cool - all glory to Warmag.
But I ain't gonna lie - hand rivets and sheet metal have been better than rock-solid for me

Lee can you ask
WarMag if they can do a bundle similar to what they sent you? Just easier….
Thanks
Would be good to do a big bundle!
My Boyz thank you
Thanks for watching!
Any way to get these model magnets without them raising the base height? Not so keen on this tbh would rather have them hidden inside
They make them to go inside now as well 👍
Would work even better with MDF bases I would think, quite expensive but seem a decent option.
That's a great idea, they would be brilliant for that. You could even paint over them to blend it all together.
This is cool.
So easy to do and no mess, I like these a lot.
What do we have that is like this in the USA?
They’re comin to USA eventually 🎉
Issues with magnetic polarity?
Where do you get the movement trays?
These are from Warfactor. I made a video about them here if you'd like to check it out: th-cam.com/video/M4HSoosjGL8/w-d-xo.html
What's Moonstone? It looks interesting. (I guess I should have waited a little longer in the video :) )
I've been having so much fun with this game, a nice change from Warhammer, and the models are brilliant.

Too bad I just finished cutting sheets of metal and magnetizing 90 models with green stuff and super glue :/
well, this looks great, too bad brexit exists and makes ordering out of the UK close to impossible...
It’s on its way from what I hear dw
