The reason why his eyes are black is cause Murdock caused a car crash twice and which 2-D flew out the car and hit his eyes which they became bloodshot and his vision is only blurry.
And the drummer is possessed which is why his eyes are white
His eyes are black bc scary laugh guy crashed his car into his eyes (im not joking) and the impact made blood rise to his pupils so they look black, 20 years later it hasn’t healed

This was released around 2001. About a month or so before 9/11. I would suggest going thru their videos in chronological order.. meaning from here 19-2000, rock the house, tomorrow come today, etc.
Funny you should mention adult swim, they did show the vid during a special midnight run where they showed music vids that were animated including daft punk's One more time from their movie interstellar 5555 (animated visual album you really need to see)
Hey love the reaction bro, new sub here. The awesome thing with Gorillaz is that alot of people (myself included) consider them a "Jack of Trades" type music band. Next song of theirs to check gotta be "Feels Good Inc."

Noodle is always a badass
The original members were the lead singer and his friend a cartoonist/graphics artist. Their idea for the band was to blend music genres and break the genre boxes.
So the song talks about the effects of drugs over a short period of time. He talks about weed. So the band is playing outside their studio in a cemetery, and Russel (the drummer), who is possessed, the blue guy (Del the funky Homosapien)comes out and begins rapping. Also I reccomend 19-2000 and Stylo

Should have checked out the old G-Bites shorts and other things they've been up to the last 22 years. I've been a fan of this band since they first came out, heck Noodle and I are almost the same age because she was just a couple years younger than me when their debut self-titled "Gorillaz" album dropped. They've got all kinds of stuff worth cehcking out. Heck there're a few fan animations based on animatics for unreleased music videos out there that're just as good as the original albums music videos. Such as 5/4 and Latin Simone.
Loved this band since I first heard this song. Dare, Feel Good Inc, Rhinestone eyes, Cracker Island and The Last Chord are my favourites.
