A second lap is when you're so cocksure of your skills in this game that you go through the escape sequence all over again just to dunk on the villian for being so slow and to show off your skills. Ever since Pizza Tower came out I've been hoping to see it on GTLive - Mat's background in platforming (especially the Warioland games) has made him one of the people I've most wanted to see play this game, and I'm delighted to see it finally make an appearance on the channel. Would *love* to see this become a full series; the levels only get wackier and more charming as the game progresses, and there's definitely some fun secrets and story elements to be discovered as well.
This was fun! I hope they do more. It’s more gameplay focused for sure, but it works for let’s plays still cause the interesting style lends itself to commentary and stories. I could watch a whole series of this, I love it!

I’ve been expecting a video on this for a while lol There’s a few VERY interesting areas of the game near the final 2 floors that if you look deep enough could have some cool bits of lore.
I know what the correct Pizza Tower lore is the starting sequence is how we're introduced to the character Pepino he is struggling with debt when all of a sudden a living Pizza comes to his restaurant and tells him that the pizza of face will nuke his place using a nuclear laser and if he doesn't want his place to get nuked he has to beat all four bosses and pizza face in order to keep his restaurant going
Honestly I would watch matpat play TOTK *all day everyday.* Also I am convinced that anyone who "doesn't like" Hawaiian pizza either doesn't like pizza or pineapple or just hasn't tried it
If you ever see a room or area near the entrance that doesn’t appear to have a purpose, try heading to that area after you complete the level and re-entering it. You should see a large pizza. If you go there during the escape, you immediately go back to john pillar (or where the timer started if he doesn’t exist) to run through the escape again. Don’t worry about running out of time, you often have far more than enough time to make it to the exit. For example, in John Gutter, the game allots a time limit of 2:35, and it only takes at most around a minute to get to the exit if you go as fast as you can. The rest of that time is dedicated to doing other things, like collecting toppins or getting the treasure.

You should play the game Killer Frequency. You play as a radio host and have to help people calling in to escape a killer on the loose. It's kinda similar to Do you copy?, but a bit longer and more exploration. It's very fun!
That "room" in john gutter that had nothing in there is the "Lap 2 Pizza Portal" which makes you go back where the pillar was go ALLL THE WAY BACK to the exit with the remaining time left, completing the tutorial in 2 minutes gets you all of the "Lap 2 Pizza Portals" or beating a level and replaying it and then it is there, (same goes with ALL levels in PT)
I think there’s some lore behind the spaceships in the tower. Maybe all of the pizza creatures in the tower are aliens that assumed topping form because they landed next to a pizza shop and are trying to blend in with earth and didn’t realize most of the planet isn’t pizza themed

things you should know: those empty secret rooms are empty until you beat them. When you go in after beating them, there is a pizza portal that when touched during pizza time, brings you back to where the pillar was. This is how you get a P rank. To get a P rank, you have to get the score requirement of an S rank, but you have to start your combo on the first room of the game and keep it up for the whole level, plus going through the lap 2 portal. For bosses, just beat it without getting hit once. The "clothes" are unlocked by doing certain tasks such as killing 1000 enemies, and getting the max amount of money by floor 3, and getting hit by a certain enemy in a level about pigs.

The animation quality is incredible for an indie game. You hardly see anything of this style anymore (but then again, I don't play indie games 😅).
It doesn't look that great but still impressive considering the insane amount of sprites peppino has.

things you should know:
those empty secret rooms are empty until you beat them. When you go in after beating them, there is a pizza portal that when touched during pizza time, brings you back to where the pillar was. This is how you get a P rank.
To get a P rank, you have to get the score requirement of an S rank, but you have to start your combo on the first room of the game and keep it up for the whole level, plus going through the lap 2 portal. For bosses, just beat it without getting hit once.
The "clothes" are unlocked by doing certain tasks such as killing 1000 enemies, and getting the max amount of money by floor 3, and getting hit by a certain enemy in a level about pigs.
