Really appreciate this. Not enough shooters walk through their entire setup especially when it comes to lenses. Thanks for the detail on this.

There's a SHOCKINGLY low amount of how-to content on this subject. Thank you for standing in the gap!

That opening is priceless 😆. Archery shop ownership is the best! Lol.

Dude! This is the best overall target bow setup video I've ever seen. Well done!

Nate, congratulations on the new range. Congrats to making it another year sir. Iknow it is a lot of work and I am proud and happy for you. I am looking at getting into indoor myself, the issues for me being on the largest, our indoor season is about to end, I dont know enough about it here yet, so not much time left and I am just practicing at home and that is how that video I mad you commented on, came about. I did get me a now for indoor and maybe I can use it for TAC, there is 2 tac events near me this year, one like 6 hours away and one about 3.5 hours away, I have honestly never shot past 50 yards, sighting in the old bow, I still have not even shot the new bow that far, so TAC will have to be the much more practice for those long shot and even try a TAC event, but it is on my list. I wish you was closer and or I was closer to you, I would love to come hang out in your shop and pick your brain on some of this competition stuff. My eyes are getting old hahhaha, so I am seeing a need for the sight light, I have found one that looks pretty sweet. I have noticed the 3/16th peep is way to big for the new sight I got for indoor as well, so working on getting a new peep this next week or so as well. mostly doing blank bale type stuff right now anyhow , learning the new bow, I really like it, haven't even tried to paper tune it yet, just shooting it is all and it appears to be doing fine for blank bale, I will paper tune it this week as well. We can almost see the target down range through your lens. your showing us, that is cool. Congrats on the 325 score as well. Arrows, yeah, that is a whole other deal as well. I have not even looked for the arrows yet. I am shooting standard arrows for right now, so I know I need to look into them, Just wasn't sure on the stiffness of the fat arrows. That is a good looking arrow as well. That just answered my question on the spine as well. Ha, that release sounds like a fun one, hahaha. Enjoy the sport brother and have a blessed week. Keep up the fun videos.

I quite like the rambling format while you shoot paper

As I age and my close up vision has left me, I was having the same issue you describe with seeing my pins as well. I had always closed my non-dominant eye, but I starting shooting with both eyes open and that help with the issue you describe. You may want to try the same.

Hi Nate, thanks for the video, it’s super helpful. Not many cover the super basics of target archery. I too will be at the Classic. Question, what to do if you really need a verifier (old guy here) to see the pin but clarifiers make the pins, drilled fiber and circle decals almost invisible to you just like without a verifier? I shoot without a lens for that reason but feel I’m at a disadvantage to the rest with lenses.

That is an excellent question. My guess would be try to mess with a lens but then got with smaller peep apertures. That's what your eye does to help clear up multiple things at varying distance - make the pupil smaller. It lets in less light, but it helps clear up more objects. I'm not saying it's a perfect fix, but it's a cheap try!

I fought a pin forever, then i went to a black dot 6x lens with a clarifier, and the target is crisp, and i can see the dot no problem and no light needed

The two closest bow shops to where I live are 4hrs and 2hrs drive away with a mezzanine test range that can be fitted inside a garden shed. I'm so jealous 😢

As someone with stigmatisms in both eyes, I also deal with pin sunburst. Have you ever replaced your red or green fibers with a blue/purple fiber? You'll definitely need a sight light to see the blue, but it eliminated the sunburst I was having with the red, green, and yellow fibers.

I tried blue and it wasn't a noticeable difference for me at the time. But as my eyes worsen it might be useful!

also shooting the elite exalt 35, my front stabilizer seems to point to the right, it almost looks like yours does too, have you noticed that?

Yup! Just a touch. It's a grip and torque thing. Everyone is different. I'm not sweating it though it's clearly driving tacks.

The single worst thing I’ve found in nearly every indoor archery range is lighting. I’ve had several shop owners say they even have issues with their own lighting on their own range. I’ve had a lot of people make comments about too bright back into their face or scope etc etc. I’d love to find a good range near me
