It is a curve ball. I'm still assisting consumers, but I more reluctant to travel to someone's house for the enrollment. I try to handle everything over the phone and via email. But not everyone is adept at the email and online enrollments. I'll be heading down to the Bay Area to meet with some long-time clients, but I'll try to couple it with a hike or dinner at a restaurant.
I am in a very complicated scenario. I am going to be 65 y/o next month and still working because I don't have the 40 work credits needed for retiring with benefits. My income is quite low. I have Medical due to my low income and now they sent me a letter saying I'm not longer qualify for MAGI Medical. I didn't even know about this MAGI thing. They say something about Non-MAGI Medical and that I may qualify for that. But it's going to be with a share of cost and it is a lot of money. Why in the world this change from a good Medical to a not-so-good Medical for older people that need the most care? It is mind-blowing, unbelievable. The information I found in the Web is terribly complicated with so many programs with different rules for every one of them. I am totally lost. I don't know where I fit in this maze. Where could I get help on finding health care that I could afford? Thank you Sir.
You may be in luck. Medi-Cal can cover the cost of Part A and Part B. You don’t quite qualify for $0 cost Part A because of too few work quarters. But, Medi-Cal, from what I have read, can cover that portion of A and you will most likely have Part B covered. Reach out to your county Medi-Cal office and get the paperwork rolling. You don’t qualify for MAGI Medi-Cal because you are Medicare eligible. It is a little bit more complicated, but having Medicare and Medi-Cal can increase your doctor and hospital options as you are in the Medicare network, not the narrow MAGI Medi-Cal network.
@@KevinKnauss You are God sent Mr. Knauss. You have no idea how much I appreciate your help. I will reach out to my county (Sacramento) Medi-Cal office.
@@stanley2004 Great, you case is a little out of the ordinary. But I have clients for whom Medi-Cal is covering the Part A premium, it just has to be the correct circumstances.
Sounds like a raw deal, Kevin! Thank you for continuing to help when you can! Very professional of you! 😊
