Why does it seem like this is the sort of thing that could have happened to Jonathan Joestar if Dio had never come into the picture? Probably because he's so kindhearted he'd help a random dragon he'd find in the forest. He only smells like a mongrel because he was playing with his dog Danny in the creek. And he only has the blood of a beast because he got...a little too curious about the Stone Mask. (There's actually a really amazing fan-manga about what would have happened if Dio had used the mask on JoJo instead of on a random stranger. It's finale is heartbreaking.)
I know. The ending also means none of the other Joestars exist since Jonathan didn't marry Erina. 😢
That ending with Jonathan choosing to die with Dio hit me REALLY hard. On the other hand, though, Stands never manifest in the plot because Dio never got pierced with the arrow, Kira either never starts murdering for hands or gets caught and apprehended really easily because he doesn't have Killer Queen, and Parts 5 and 6 just plain don't happen. Wild, huh?
