I love your videos, easy to understand and clear and concise. I have cleaned my Brother knitting machine kh-836 and need to put it away in its case for a few months. Is it ok to put the machine away without a sponge bar inserted or could it damage the needles? I don't want to put a brand new one back in when not in use. My old sponge bar was flat and has a residue on it so don't want to put that back in .

I only seem to find just the sponge part for sale anywhere, but mine looks just like yours with the metal and the plastic ends. Do you know where these can be purchased now, and what price point to look for?
I don't normally just change out the sponge. I find buying an entire new sponge bar works best. But I will consider making a video on that. Thanks for the suggestion.
You can buy new sponge bars off the internet. Do a search for a KH260 Sponge Bar and you will find several places that sell your models size. The Brother brand and Knitking brand are the same machine so you can just search for the model number KH260.

I have taken my busch ideal machine apart and the peg bar has Bolt nut washed and a tiny ring spring and I cannot forbthe life of me remember how they go back together because I stupidly thought id remember but then life happened for a few months and lo and behold I have no idea. I also dont have a sponge bar but a long yarn peice ...maybe somone used that to replace an old sponge bar. The ideal manual doesnt have a service manual and doesn't say anything about the machine parts. It took me a week to figure out what the peg bar was called to even ask lol! Can anyone help?

You can totally store it without the sponge bar in place, especially if you won't be using it for a while.

You can just remove the old sponge with soap and water and stick on the new sponge with some adhesive or tape. That’s what I always do
There is an online shop called the knitting closet that sells the sponge bars. I have ordered from them in the past and they ship fast.

I am sorry you haven't found some help. I too am afraid will not be able to help you as I am not familiar with that machine. I hope you find answers.
