@@ByAnyMeansBasketball i can easily get past the first layer but when i do two dribbles the help defense cuts me off and i dont have time to change directions.
Maybe how to keep the ball safe how to use floaters reads lays for smaller players to score on big scorers how to draw fouls how to keep balanced how to slow step how to play off one and two feet step thrus pivots I'm just talk but that type of stuff
@@Mark-bm3wqslow down to make a read and then react accordingly, what i do is use a heavy step hesi or put my first defender in jail by backing into them (thats more of a Point Guard move though)
Coach can you make a vid for " how to get easy by 3-2(zone defens)" i play in europe and we play very often 3-2 defense but its harder to make plays like motion

That looks like a great plan to me! I coach and train highschoolers in the Seattle area. As we get closer to the season, I'd encourage you to at least consider 2 things: 1) Add cardio. You're obviously a guard, and if you're one of the better players for your team and you expect to play most the game, definitely add cardio. Our boy here has a video for cardio workouts for hoopers. 2) Consider an off-day. Sounds counterintuitive, but it's super important to let your body heal. I respect your grind so you don't have to, but if your body/mind start to break down, give yourself a scheduled off-day! Usually have my guys take Sundays off. Love your dedication, especially waking up before school to do ball handling. Great work!!! 🫡
Just make sure you try not to really approach the workout like "finishing segment + shooting segment". You have to sort of mix them both into most drills. Coleman has a video on how to train by yourself 1-on-0. Take a look at that video before and it should help you think of drills/concepts to work with. You gotta have a great imagination and basically imagine you're playing 1v1 the whole time, still having an imagination for where the help defense is, where your teammates are spotting up, all that. So if you're working shooting and finishing, maybe in most of your drills you're tossing it to yourself and IMAGINING a defender closing out. Every time you picture something different, sometimes he's late so you shoot because you're open. Sometimes he ran at you hard and you drive the closeout and finish creatively against the help defense. That way your drills are not shooting drills or finishing drills, they're very intentional, mindful 1v1 games even tho you don't have another body there guarding you. Does that make sense?
coach i cant get past the second layer of defense can you help me with a video??
@@Mark-bm3wq for sure - explain it a bit more though so i can make the best video possible for that!
