She took such care with everything but the painting of the furniture and color choices. I’m wondering if she may be taking advantage of left over paint and is planning on replacing some of the upcycled furniture later. I’ve had to do this many times over years of scraping by. It’s pretty rewarding 😃I gotta hand it to her, she really did a huge amount of work to get that place livable!

I wish you didn't paint that mirrored cabinet... It was a beautiful wood you could have cleaned an then waxed... It wud have been stunning... But you painted everything you touched.... I and I am sure plenty of others here have done without and have worked hard to make things nice. my complaint is that she's always taking the fast easy way, rather than do it right! no painting nice furniture garish colors! sand it and refinish it! no nailing fabric into wood! use hardware to affix a curtain rod and then sew channels into the fabric! No painting walls without cleaning, sanding and taping them off first! it's not being hypercritical! it's just common sense!

Adorable! Great work, a very resourceful hard working woman. I remember my first apartment, it was a tiny studio that i felt so proud of because i fixed it up in a similar way with thrift furniture and things my family could spare. Ill forever love that place.

As far as the mattress, the best post statement is, why not cover it. She has some funds to get flooring and paint. Why not a airtight coveting for safety and cleanliness. I'm halfway in this video. I'm not even going to comment about the mattress because everyone who commented on it had the same concerns as I do; however, I'm so bothered that the painting was done so haphazardly: to the walls, the door, the windows, and the furnitures. I'm sorry. Maybe, I'm just a perfectionist but I believe painting everything with more care could've made a whole lot of difference. Sometimes, creating a masterpiece is a matter of paying more attention to details. NONETHELESS, I applaud the effort.
That irked me a bit too. All the missed spots, the paint runs and just not finishing it properly. Maybe it was the look she was going for but I'd have to finish the painting completely if It was me. She did achieve a lot tho and if she is happy with it then I guess it's all good :)

I live in new Zealand we have second hand shops or op shops they sell used beds and mattresses for less price I have had to buy an old bed I always smell if it smells musty the shop people steam the mattresses to clean them first and then I buy a mattress cover never had problems with a second hand mattress if you are poor you have to adapt we aren't all blessed with money you people sound quite as if you never had to go hungry I think this girl is marvelous and clever
would not be my choice of colours. However IF you want to paint the furniture - then why do it so messy? the blue paint on the bed is dripping down, there a many parts at the door and windows that are not painted properly and the bedside tables look quite undone aswell.. I think if she had taken her time to do the things right, then the place could have turned out nice. Now it looks kinda undone and messy there's no way she's really living there
The job looked rushed and that old filthy mattress did it for me alongside the dusty old side tables and horrible paint job. I agree she did what she had to...but if the end result is to rent that room... it's a solid no for me

Sounds as if you're an entitled person, never having to have done without. Sometimes in life your only choice is to use what's available to you. Given that choice, things aren't in perfect shape but being thankful to have found anything to use is a blessing. Sleeping on an old, ragged mattress is better than sleeping on a cold, hard floor. Every blessing has a silver lining. Be thankful for all of life's blessings.

It looks better than what it did but still not good. There is too many colors choose two that go together and stick with it but man you went way out there. Other than that it’s better I guess.
Vocês me desculpem mas eu acho que não é questão de pouco ou muito dinheiro. A questão é a ordem com que as coisas foram feitas. Pintar paredes, colocar piso , que deve ter sido caro, forrar a cama com roupas novas e só então mexer com lixadeira, fazendo poeira. OK, so what these guys are doing is creating video snippets with paid actors. cheap as possib;e projects, with the end goal being to show how sweet, hard-working and humble these lovely Chinese people are. Keep in mind, these are aactors. Then the comments below are made by the people actuaally making the stitched together videos. Their TH-cam accounts were all created at the exact same time. So they have a production crew, an IT crew making the videos, and a robot army attacking any negative criticism, in hopes of achieving a propaganda tool on youtube geared towards non TV viewers. Just be aware of what you are consuming.
Please don’t use that old mattress. That’s nasty! You need to take that mattress outside and get it in the sun, beat that thing to get the dust out! Bugs! Goodness! But in the end, a very pretty result. Nice new paint. Greens and yellows! Very refreshing!

I live in new Zealand we have second hand shops or op shops they sell used beds and mattresses for less price I have had to buy an old bed I always smell if it smells musty the shop people steam the mattresses to clean them first and then I buy a mattress cover never had problems with a second hand mattress if you are poor you have to adapt we aren't all blessed with money you people sound quite as if you never had to go hungry I think this girl is marvelous and clever
would not be my choice of colours. However IF you want to paint the furniture - then why do it so messy? the blue paint on the bed is dripping down, there a many parts at the door and windows that are not painted properly and the bedside tables look quite undone aswell..
I think if she had taken her time to do the things right, then the place could have turned out nice. Now it looks kinda undone and messy

The job looked rushed and that old filthy mattress did it for me alongside the dusty old side tables and horrible paint job. I agree she did what she had to...but if the end result is to rent that room... it's a solid no for me

Sounds as if you're an entitled person, never having to have done without. Sometimes in life your only choice is to use what's available to you. Given that choice, things aren't in perfect shape but being thankful to have found anything to use is a blessing. Sleeping on an old, ragged mattress is better than sleeping on a cold, hard floor. Every blessing has a silver lining. Be thankful for all of life's blessings.

Nie každý môže žiť v prepychu, mať 4 Visa karty, trendy oblečenie, obutie, každý druhý rok nový mobil...ružové poníky, jednorožce, všade samé srdiečka...Si krutý, skús sa trochu zamyslieť, pre každého nie je život prechádzka ružovým sadom. Ľudia si nevyberú, do čoho sa narodia. Veď si kúpi nový matrac, až bude mať peniaze. Všetko lepšie, než žiť na predmestí Los Angeles na chodníku v krabici. Dievčaťu fandím. Áno, robí chyby, ale snaží sa a chce žiť dôstojne.
yeah I was also disgusted. Like at least try clean it maybe. Like they took the big cabinet outside. Why couldn't they take out the mattress outside and clean it?
I kept thinking to wrap the mattress completely in duct tape to make a safe boundary between old germs and stranger DNA before adding sheets.

Not sure I'd use that old mattress. Rather sleep on the slats with the other pads used. But glad others aren't ocd like me. Makes life less stressful.

It looks better than what it did but still not good. There is too many colors choose two that go together and stick with it but man you went way out there. Other than that it’s better I guess.

Vocês me desculpem mas eu acho que não é questão de pouco ou muito dinheiro. A questão é a ordem com que as coisas foram feitas. Pintar paredes, colocar piso , que deve ter sido caro, forrar a cama com roupas novas e só então mexer com lixadeira, fazendo poeira. Quase tive um filho quando ela pintou aquele guarda roupa tão lindo com aquela tinta verde horrível.

I was thinking the same thing.. my OCD couldnt handle the sloppy paint job and no bed skirt also everything in one corner was making me bananas.. that said I love to see anyone working hard to beautify their home personal soace...

OK, so what these guys are doing is creating video snippets with paid actors. cheap as possib;e projects, with the end goal being to show how sweet, hard-working and humble these lovely Chinese people are. Keep in mind, these are aactors.
Then the comments below are made by the people actuaally making the stitched together videos. Their TH-cam accounts were all created at the exact same time. So they have a production crew, an IT crew making the videos, and a robot army attacking any negative criticism, in hopes of achieving a propaganda tool on youtube geared towards non TV viewers.
Just be aware of what you are consuming.
