Phenomenal, amazing, incredible - there’s no superlative grand enough to describe the way Dan Vasc embodies every song he performs! You mentioned checking out the Fearless site (Dan's heavy metal band) so thought I'd share that based on a video recently uploaded by a sound/recording engineer referencing doing final cleanup and recording of Fearless music and previous statements from Dan himself it appears there is a new epic Fearless saga on the horizon. Nothing more definitive than that ATM but anyone who is interested would do well to monitor Dan's sites. 🙂
Excellent reaction! Reactions to any and all of Dan's songs are always appreciated! I love them all, but I'd really love a reaction to Fairy Tale and Carry On (Angra's cover, the tribute to Andre Matos). Dan is simply the best!
Josiah, I only wish I had known about Matos while he was alive. I've been watching more of him and just love him. The older clips have Luis Mariutti. Matos plus Mariutti equals amazing. I agree that your 2 suggestions are perfect covers by DV!
Andre and Luis were both founding members of Angra and then Shaman. Amazing bands!
@@josiahrobinson6135, yes, I just found that out last week while I was diving into Matos. I only wish I had known about them sooner! I only found Dan 2 months ago, and his covers led me to Angra, Shaman, Manowar, and so many others. I feel like I've struck gold! 😁👍
Exactly! That's how I felt when I found Dan three years ago next month. I haven't been this excited about music since the 80s and early 90s.

I'm right with you on this. One thing, though. The male part in Amy's original version was NOT there. She was trying to get the song published, after her own personal experiences that birthed this song (check the really good Wikipedia article about all of that), and the publisher's wouldn't let her publish it without adding the MALE part, which at that time was in true rap form. Amy later published it WITHOUT the male vocals, in the way it originally was meant to be.
Dan, however, left that part in, and metalized the rap part. To ME, it's tremendous, because he very successfully shows the difference between the LIGHT and the DARKNESS.

I don't know if you are a Christian or not (makes no difference to me, as far as reactions go, for the most part), but if you want to check out a very recent video on my channel, that includes a reference to this very song, just go to the channel and look for "08/01/2023-A Strange Dream Sequence (Documented 07/28/2023)." OH!!! OH!!! OH!!! You just asked one question I can ANSWER!!!
A couple of weeks ago, I got a HUGE gift in my e-mail, from...Dan Vasc! I was blown away! I'm always making comments on his Facebook Reels, and I comment on every video I've watched (as I'll be doing here, too, as I just subscribed and hit the bell for all notifications). A lot of times, in the Facebook reel comments, I have answered some of the questions others have asked, because I'm an info DIGGER (could you tell?). Plus, I had visited the Fearless site, looking for random information to satisfy my own curiosity.
The e-mail said (in part), "Thank you! To express my gratitude for you dropping by my website I'm sending you a copy of my ebook HEALTHY VOICE as an entirely free gift. Download it below and enjoy! Click on the link below to open the message in a browser..." I used the link to pick up the ebook, printed it, and my daughter and I have feasted on it. It is TREMENDOUS, and talks about the things that have been extremely important to Dan himself, with the tips he has given his own students since he quit college and went into business for himself. I returned a huge THANK YOU by return email. 😀
I had already mentioned to Dan, in a comment on one of the reels, that I've been working HARD on getting the lost parts of my own voice back, after a long time bent over terribly with rheumatoid arthritis. Both of my hips were replaced in 2017, and gradually, ever-so-slowly, I've been working on getting at least MOST of my previous 5-octave range back. I can't yet SOAR the way I used to, but...I'm doing MUCH better, and can actually REACH some of my highest notes again...not all of them, yet, but it WILL happen. I'm determined! I used to teach all of the parts when choir leaders needed that done. I used to be able to sing the highest soprano parts all the way down into some of the very lowest bass parts, and LOVED doing it. All I EVER wanted to do was...SING...and I DID, until that pesky RA came along and bit me HARD, back in around 2000!
The tips and techniques in that ebook gave me back memories of some of the things that I NEEDED to remember, and that I have now started practicing once again--in addition to just watching him breathe and stand correctly. My youngest daughter (who has a huge range and a heavenly voice, herself), is now availing herself of the hints and tips in that ebook, as well. It's very sensible, direct, and EASY to understand and follow. Every tenet in it is through Dan's own experience with the problems, and how he figured out to fight them and BEAT them. You (ahem) may have noticed that he is, "...all about POWER and VICTORY..." (grin)
I noticed just last week, that he has been telling others about that ebook--probably for a while, now, but I hadn't noticed that it can be seen in many of his descriptions. There is a link to it (the same one I received by email), and it WORKS...if you PUT it to work. If you want one of the ebooks, go search in his descriptions until you find the link. It's totally FREE!

Yes...apparently he will practice about five days beforehand, then do the actual work, then, as he succinctly puts it, "just shut up for a day or two." I heard him talking about that on one interview he did, from about a year back.
