I remember driving home late one night, probably 30 years ago (OMG, can't believe I'm that old) when I lived on James Island, SC. The two lane road curved around a marsh, and there was an astronomical high tide with the full moon that night. Coming around that curve, I realized I was surrounded by the OCEAN, and I flew that little MR2 as fast as I could until I could see flora and fauna! It was an overwhelming feeling and I'm so glad I didn't slow it stop. That car sat about 6" off of the ground and the water was over my headlights and midway over the hood. I guess the mid engine provided enough weight to keep tire traction. I never took that route home during high tide again. Scared me to death.😺🌽
Question? Why after so many buildings that have been damaged by storms people keep building right along the seashore? Beach front homes are for dummies
Simple answer.... Because they can. Not to be a smart a**. That's the risk of living by the water and they have the money to take that chance. I have family who live right up the road inland several miles on higher ground. Nearly all the houses down near the water are now way up on stilts and new construction "hurricane proof". Time will tell!
All look at that it is so beautiful look at the water I just love how high tied brings everything in look at a good side everybody get there house wash for free
No, the Silver Slipper is not in Waveland, it is in Bay St. Louis, MS. Look it up if you doubt. Waveland was carved out of Bay St. Louis around 20 years ago. On a map, it is a roughly triangular wedge of a town completely surrounded by Bay St. Louis and fronted by the Gulf of Mexico.Yes this is how it looked.
They depend on these storms that hit the Mississippi gulf coast, because they break up the barrier islands and then flush out all the nasty pollution that gets pumped there from the Mississippi river! Albeit's only for a short time. I can say this because I lived right across Highway 90 from the beach in Biloxi. And were restricted from going in the water. Yes! It's that bad!!
I do not understand all this coments about how amazing it is? about the drone catching all this pics, Would you say this if you were there? People getting stranded and losing everything.
It’s because they are not humans responding but computer bots. Humans have collective history and therefore feel the real effort that was done to build these structures. We have a sense of history which adds value and meaning. Bots don’t have any history or collective memories, so all they can do is marvel at what is happening but not understand how it has become so, and what it all means.

Probably you should defund the police, you really don’t need them. Emergency 911, just a bunch of, well you know what --- say. Just look, everything is just fine and dandy! You could always call the City Council or Mayor to help you, riigghhhtt!
Nobody in my house voted for the Humpty Dumpty dipshidiot! And I have kids that work security at the silver slipper casino and they are on the hurricane emergency list...they have to be there when other people call out! That water is hell on our brakes and 4 WD linkage but the Jeep and Titan are beasts!!!
That drone is amazing. Seeing the flags getting whipped in the wind yet the video is so stable.
