I'd prefer the lowest impedance the amp is capable of handling (tighter bass), but again

Like I said, this is subjective -meaning the way how you perceived the musical source. If you have both 4 and 8-ohm speakers. then make an actual comparison between both -there is no other explanation but let your ears be the judge.
