Great video. I’ve just bought a drill press that is very similar to the Parkside one, and this knowledge will be very useful.
Hi Viorel...good video. I am looking to buy a new drill press, and am considering this model. It seems a reasonable choice in the price range. One thing I'd like to mention - using a spirit level is not a good way to align the work table to the drill bit, as it it really only levels the work tabe to your bench. If the chuck is not square to the work table your hole will still be out. You need to level the work table to the drill chuck using a Z shaped piece of wire in the chuck - as you rotate the chuck the wire will touch, or miss, the work table indicating which parts are square to the chuck. If you have to tap a brand new drill to get it aligned/straight, it is not a good drill!! But then again, what can you expect for this price.

I am sorry to hear that, because you payed some money, and it's not such a bad drill, after all.
So the hidden adjust screw did not fix the wobble...
Cold the wobble came from the chuck? Have you tried the sharpie method, to determine which side is off center?

@@Racov yes, tried the sharpie method, I think axle is the problem it looks crooked.. I just called customer service and told that it is factory fault, and they said they will contact me later, so now it is a waiting game :D
Hello! Great explanation! I have a problem with this machine. The "head" where you put the drill bit is falling off during the drilling. It has been assembled according to the instructions, exactly the way you did it. How can I make it stable? Thanks
Hi Valentina.
The head (chuck or mandrill) is only held in place because it has a cone shape that fits perfectly the spinning shaft.
You need to tap it firmly with a hammer into the shaft.
Open the place with the belt, hold the pulley with the belt and tight the bit holder with the bit screw
I know this was 3 years ago but is this version better or the more expensive cast iron version from Scheppach?

I have no idea. I never saw a Scheppach. This is indeed a cheap machine, intended for amateur use.

@@WeaponCollector This is the only vertical drill I worked with, so i’m not an expert. The major brands, Makita, Bosh, should be better, but you know, these days they kinda are all the same. The quality costs more.

I'm sorry but I won't be watching this video, as you lost me at the point of "9 speed stages, who cares about that". Well I have to tell you, "I care a lot about that". Maybe you just don't have any idea just how important it is to be able to change your drill speed. What a Plonker 🥴🥴
You are right. I wasn't aware of this at the time. This was/is my first vertical drill machine. I'm using it quite a lot, and I'm still very pleased.
@@Racov I appreciate your reply to my comment and have just watched the rest of your review of the parkside pillar drill. Can I say that, unless you're an engineer, who is making precision parts and need to drilling holes to the precise and utmost perfection, I would say this drill, for the money, would be well worth buying. After all, you would need to pay 3 or 4 times what you're paying for the pillar drill, just on a quality vice alone, and as you yourself found, with a little bit of jiggling about, you should be able to get some acceptable results. 👍😉
