Stupid Questions To Ask Someone From Shetland | Shetland Life

  • Marjolein is a comedian from Shetland - a Scottish island known for it's tiny horses, and being quite remote. Marjolein gets lots of stupid questions from people when they find out she's from Shetland - including: Do you have internet? What's the best train to get to Shetland? Do you speak Gaelic? Is there anything to do on Shetland? This is her pet peeve - as there is so much to do on Shetland! But whatever you do, don't call Shetland 'The Shetlands' - or Marjolein might really lose her cool!

You can hear the same twang as icelandics have, so similar with the R's as well. Brilliant

No-one ever talks about the Shetland sheepdogs. I always imagine flocks of Shetland sheep dogs running over Shetland hills in search of sheep and dinner....but that's just me .

Do you have internet on Shetland? What happened to all the trees? Why are there so many rock walls and who stacked them? Do you have McDonald's fast food? Do you have seafood restaurants? When the Scottish spaceport is operational will you be able to see the rockets on their way to space? That's all the annoying questions I can think of so far....
