      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah there are some other pieces I think I'd like to talk about. Drift, a secret thing, some mysteries I've discovered, comparison of RTK vs GNSS-only... maybe a bit about the case.
      ProRes 422 is 10-bit by its nature, you need ProRes Raw to exceed that, unfortunately.

    In regards to your note at 5:04 about moving the RTK station... I've been talking with the DJI engineers, and hypothetically if you replace the RTK back to the same spot, you should be able to recall the coordinate data and fly the same routes again.
    HOWEVER, this doesn't seem to work well in practice. At a construction site, I poured a 4x4 concrete pad, drilled a small hole in the middle, and every time I return to the site with the drone to get site update shots (I'm trying to do a long-term timelapse) I place the tip of the RTK-2 into that hole, level the tripod, level the unit- basically, it's as if all I've done between days is reboot the RTK because it's returned to the EXACT same position. But no matter what I try, I'm constantly getting varying ellipsoidal heights- often up to 10 meters different. This doesn't just happen between days; this sometimes happens if I simply reboot the RTK-2 in the same day. This sometimes happens randomly mid-flight. The DJI engineers keep telling me this is normal, which is insane given that the "centimeter-level" language is everywhere in the marketing, but in actuality they seem to be cool with 30ft variations. Have you had any similar issues?

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      RTK definitely did not seem to provide its MSRP in value in terms of filmmaking, repeatable routes, accuracy, drift, etc. it was helpful like 20-25% of the time, max! I don’t use it at all and have never bought one for myself.

    There is action per waypoint - "Hover" - that might have done what you were intending to? Stopping at each waypoint for a moment?

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suppose!
      The test was more of accuracy than film. The drone did it the “film” way but for accuracy, I think you’re right!

    Hey Arden Any report on stills quality???

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stills are good! Heavy files.
      I’ll have to do a little ISO / dynamic range comparison I2-I3 I guess, that’s about the only other way to compare.
      I was chatting with Jordan at PetaPixel too, that the lens field curvature is more pronounced because we’re seeing *all* of the 24, 35, and 50mm, due to the larger sensor. Details in the sides of the frame aren’t as clear/defined as we’re used to on X7, but there is plenty of detail to go ‘round!

    • @craigcraigparryphotography7382
      @craigcraigparryphotography7382 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@askyellowhouse compared to say a Sony A1 - A7rV ? you think its a pro camera for stills? I was pretty disappointed with the X7 and its softness.
      Thanks for your quick reply! Do you have any downloadable raws for us to check out? Its strange no one has reported on this!

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been happy with the X7's stills quality so maybe I'm the wrong person to ask. I still shoot stills on Nikon D610s for corporate work.
      I don't know that this will be much sharper, as it's the same glass, but it might be better suited for a sharper image given the higher resolution. Of course as I mentioned, you're battling field curvature on a huge sensor, too, though.
      I'll put two DNGs in the DJI Inspire 3 Owners Facebook Group. :)

      Hello Arden, hey I am a hobby guy , followed your videos for awhile now!!! A lot of questions - my first is why someone your level does not use tb-50 battery station? Another is use of carbon fiber props? i have so many points about inspire 2 and tb-50 and a battery guy? All my flights are only battery maintenance only - depth of discharge and temp- swing temps- My huge problem with the cendence is no dedicated landing switch and landing gear not working use cendence as piliots controller!! Very scary problem with carbon fiber props!!! I would love to see a flight time video done correctly!! Means opening battery page many times and show us cell voltages - battery take off temp- and swing temp- landing temperatura- I undersatand this level of flight time review is almost impossible? Flying a battery with over 50c internal temp is not recomended!!!! Some points you say are interesting others i do not agree 100% - Dji stated about inspire 2 its 15min of flight time and 3.7 v per cell is landing now!! I also incluid 50c internal temp!! DJI states upto 23min x7 - i bet its hard to break 15min - and maybe you can get 18 min max on a new set of tb-50 landing safe , the problem is depth of discharge degrades battery , one professional i know is only flying to 40% for the reason of all the puffed battery sets he has easy 20 -30 sets he also does not have a battery station ? Because it costs money not many like what i say and only one other guy got one from me and he is a hobby piloto really funny stuff!! Another is cycles and cell voltage sage at takeoff?

    Stability looks leaps and bounds about the I2. It was my biggest gripe with it as usually I dont do many high and wide shots, its always close in, slow, low to the ground movements which makes its bouncing around (or merry little dance as i call it) very frustrating. Going by that comparison clip at the end it seems to be a lot steadier in the air at low speed? did you try it with the 50mm to really test how steady it is?

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think you need a 50mm to see the improvements! It performed similarly over a rocky river's edge the other day, as well. Quantifying *how much* better it is, is difficult without just doing more I2 vs I3 comparison videos. :)
      I'll see about including one or two more comparisons in the next vid, but to some extent, you just gotta take my word for it: It's much better!

    • @mmcphotographyirl
      @mmcphotographyirl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@askyellowhouse Fantastic to hear from first hand experience! my 4 big wishlist items was the drone being steady at low speeds and in general, better framerate options, better video and remote connection qualities and a useable FPV camera. It was great to see them all address in your video!
      How do you find the dolly mode? is it practical to set up?

    • @A_Haunted_Pancake
      @A_Haunted_Pancake ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's also a lot more stable than the I2 while hovering.
      A friend & me did some long exposure photography tests at night the other day
      and shots of several sec were no problem. Things actually only got a bit blurry
      at the full 8 sec. Leaps & bounds, considering the I2 could maybe do 1/2 sec.

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mmcphotographyirl Maybe you're thinking of tripod mode? It's the third option on the mode switch. Normal - Sport - Tripod. Much like the Mini 3's C-N-S switch (Cine - Normal - Sport). Super useful.
      Takeoff in normal, Sport to get where you're going, flip to Cine, film film film, Sport home, Normal to land!

    Great to see you making another video, you were missed. Love your content mate, really great stuff. Question: You mention in your video that the native ISO of the X5S is 800, where did you get this from? I've always thought it was ISO 100... I can't see ISO 800 listed as the native ISO anywhere in the X5S manual.

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!
      Regarding X5S ISO: Hmmm. I seem to recall something like in the early days of X5S, EI mode would lock the X5S at 800, and then an update unlocked the ability to change again.
      I can’t find much on the internet about it being 800 though so I may be mistaken.

      @@askyellowhouse Cool, thanks so much for the reply. I've always shoot with the X5S in manual, don't really know about EI mode. Have always stuck with 100 ISO at 1/50 @ 25fps or 1/100 @ 50fps.

    Great video really looking forward to more since you are first person to make a video like this - flight time be interesting what happens and warning come up? My biggest worries is Atti mode? Does inspire 3 have true Atti like inspire 2 - this function is a deal breaker as a hobby guy - i fly into wind as far as possible and just let it drift back!!! This kind of flight i have never seen anyone do on youtube, most people have no idea whats going on? My perspective is totally differant!!! Thank you so much your video, they are very good!!!

    • @askyellowhouse
      @askyellowhouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Mode switch is GPS, Sport, and “Other” we’ll call it. The default is Tripod mode, kind of like the Mini 3’s C-N-S switch. I have to look into the menu more for ATTI etc!
      And oh yes, flight time and a few other awesome changes are coming in another video!

    Hi :)
    I have some questions, hope you have the time to answer :)
    We are considering the dji inspire 2 with x5s, is it a good enough upgrade over the mavic 3? Or should we save up and buy the inspire 3?

      Depends what you’re looking for. If different lenses then yes - honestly for anything other than daily film work, I2 is wonderful and capable. But Mavic 3 is super capable already and much less hassle.

    Great machine! But what I don't like or even hate it this bulky RC adopted from the M30. From a pilot's perspective the old but good RC paired the a chrystal was the best to handle with especially for a pintcher like I am.
