That black shiny paper in between comes in handy when you want to use alcohol markers to color with it doesn't bleed through. I have a Chibi coloring book that has that black shiny paper.

Stunning glitter watercolors!...I like to use Crayola products and those Bright and Bold crayons are nice! I'll have to look for them...The "monster" shoes you painted for your grandson are fabulous!...Your grandkids will have lots of fun memories with their Grammy! Awesome haul, fun to see! Sparkly watercolors are exactly what my soul needs 😍 so beautiful! We need recommendations on best books to use them in!
One sided illustrated books I would recommend. Thicker the paper the better but I have used carefully on Amazon paper for small areas. Just use a plastic sheet under pages for best protection. Can test them in back of books to see how they do on the test pages.
I am coloring an autumn page right now. I am also all about the autumn season too. LOL. In Matchstick Mouse, I love to use my Blick Studio, Arteza or Prismacolor depending whether I want to use a harder pencil or a softer pencil. AND YES! Alcohol markers are a great base or even just using them alone. You gotta try Deborah Muller's watercolors. She makes beautiful, sparkly colors AND they even smell so good!

I love all things Autumn and Spooky Season too! I like to use Alcohol markers in the Matchstick Mouse books. I also like to use them as a base and then my Brutfuner Square or Black Widow pencils on top. I need to swatch my new paints and she sent me some sample dots!!!!! HOW COOL!

Thats really interesting what you did with the color shift paints, I will try that! I have found it needs to be mixed with a bit of water to get a smooth lay down. I like how you do your paint swatches in wonky shapes!
Thank you! I learn alot by trial and error. My watercolor shapes for swatching came about because I couldn't draw straight lines with paint to save my life that many times, so I made them wonky so lines don't matter lol. Love those color shifts. Luckily I remembered when using them prior to coloring they did best with an underlayer or can be mixed in paint too. Less liquid if you lay down the acrylic marker first, then the shift paint after first layer is dry, will be smoother. Think we all learn new ways depending on paper as colorists. I just used metallic watercolor on MatchStick Mouse page. Yoiks! It definitely doesn't like it. I salvaged but good to know for the next one!! LoL Thank you for watching! Have an awesome weekend!!!!!
Kristina, I really enjoyed watching your fun haul video. I’m looking forward to seeing you in a video with your granddaughter about your buddy color. The shoes you painted for your grandson are adorable. You are an awesome Grammy (that’s what we called my grandmother, special place in my heart❤). I am intrigued by the Sparkling Magical Watercolors, and they are on my wishlist. For me, in Matchstick Mouse, I use alcohol markers, Derwent Chromoflow, Prismas, and Neo Color Is blended with Gamsol using a blending stump. I know Grumble Bunny and Coloring with Alena do some outstanding color tutorials in these books. The newest one about the Pumpkin Party is supposedly on the more premium Amazon paper. I get my copy tomorrow. I watched Pixie’s Projects do a flip on it. Enjoy your wonderful goodies❤🤗
