Tanacon was gonna be a disaster from the start, I didn't have high hopes for someone to plan it very well at all, and low and behold, I was right and I watched Plainrock124 clown on it the entire time
plainrock was the one who benefited the most, blew up his channel
Literally the easiest event to plan around your venue. Figure out how many ppl the ballroom can hold (3,198) and make it a week long event where you need to buy multiple days, 2800 ppl per day. Raise ticket prices to hire event staff/security and also to finance food. Make it 3-4 hrs. Done
What you are using my dear friend is pure rational thought ...something the organizers are not capable of.
this is the difference between an organization (Twitch) and a sole celebrity who has no idea what to do.
Twitch management is a shitshow, only some people carrying it on their back with the majority of lacklustre ideas

There's no chance Tana did any of the planning herself, she had a team. The team was probably smaller than Twitch's, and obviously much more incompetent, but it's definitely not Twitch's organization vs solely Tana

Honestly 40 days seems like a good enough time to me. The hardest part is getting the venue. Get at least 6k venue for 5k people. Separate entrance and exit and most problems would be avoided

gotta commend her for doing all the right things after though, taking all accountability and refunding everyone’s dollar. She just seemed like someone who was very optimistic and didn’t understand the logistics of large events
Lmfao it wasn’t a dollar, they said in the video it was $65. Only a limited number of $1 tickets were sold, once that sold out the only option was the $65 one, which is why people wanted refunds.

I feel like this video left out a few important points. But mostly the $65 VIP tickets, bc I could see xqc was confused about a $1 refund. There was the $1 ticket, $65 VIP ticket and the just show up and you'll get in for free promise. Not to mention all the people that were pissed they specifically flew from different countries for tanacon and wasted their money because it was cancelled
Yeah and the $65 VIP tickets were meant to include a goodie bag worth like 4 times more than the ticket or something but it was like stickers and a lanyard

They COULD have made it work, but got greedy. See there were only so many "free" admission spots (like 200) and then they just kept letting people pay for VIP so MOST of the people who showed up paid for VIP and then didn't even get treated like VIP because everyone was VIP. Basically the VIP WAS the general admission. But yeah they could have made it a good event if they had limited the sales of the VIP tickets. They should have made general admission an actual price, and then made the VIP a little more expensive. The general admission could still be inexpensive, but still yknow, and then put the cap on the amount of tickets you can sell based on your venue and provide food and water. Tbh it was really that simple.
