My uncle met these guys at Jazz Fest. He was working a bar that had closed down for the night. All that was left was the Blues Travelers. He asked them to sign his ball cap. He said next thing he knew they were pulling up a chair, ordered a couple more pitchers of beer, and insisted he join them. He claimed they were some of the most down to earth, kind, fun loving group of guys you would ever meet. My uncle has since passed. A great man in his own right. Memories eternal uncle Jerry. We sure do miss you.
Your uncle Jerry was so much cooler than my uncle Jerry; he’s still alive but doesn’t have any rock tales like that. Those kinds of tales will always live on.
They were my first concert, I was about 7 years old it was 1993 , I remember going to Jones Beach Theatre long island . I went with my mother she was a big music person, I remember people walking around with tie dye, and they were selling super big top hats like the cat in the hat, and blues traveler showed up late because they were on the ocean watching the coast guard save a sea turtle that was stuck. There were dozens of groups there, but I remember mostly Blues Traveler and the counting crows. It was a lalapalooza all day concert, one of the best memories of my early childhood!
This song, man. This song is such a happy place for me. I dont think its tied to any specific memory, but every. single. time i hear it it puts a big smile on my face. I sing along with a dumb grin on my face i just cant control lol. Thank you John and the band for making this song and providing such a pure, happy, and just all around GOOD song, vibe, and memory for me and countless others. Oh, and who's here for 2024??? God bless the 90s!!
One of the best songwriters to ever live, John Popper. Definitely a harmonica genius. 😊 the lyrics to this song are intensely profound under the simplicity of it. A lot of their songs are like this, the kind that engage your brain to get the full meaning. I can relate to this song so much! I love these guys, wish we were seeing new stuff as well, but you know, I’m grateful they gave us this much👍

We are lucky to have been alive when Blues Traveler was making music.
I was very lucky to see them at a free show, and of course they friggin killed! Stay positive. Good vibes only = good times.

I also lucked and got to see them for free but I was kid at the. Brian setzer and orchestra was there at the same time.
Seen em with THE ALLMAN BROTHERS
EXCELLENT.

If I liked a 90s song it would be this one.
Not the type to say “music ain’t what it used to be”
I just wish every once in awhile a band like this would become mainstream.
Music sucks today
They kinda did for a blues band
Bluesgrass yo, look up jackie green
I hate my generations trash ass music
Anyone with an unbiased mind knows old school songs are 10x better
This song feels like it belongs in a Dreamworks Animation movie.
100%
You ain't wrong though.
It was from The Truth about Cats and Dogs.
Hollywood must of called for the movie rights a few times ;) 1:44

Arin: u know that one blues travelers song that goes -imitates harmonica bit note for note

1998 and I still remember listening to this song on my mix tape on the way down to Cape Cod to see my grandparents :) Brings back some awesome memories.
My father used to make me sleep listening to this song when I was a baby... I really love this song
My childhood brought me here. This was still popular in the early to mid 2000s, and I heard it all the time on my way to elementary school.

Sure have missed hearing this song. Its such a huge relief to hear it again.....
I don't think i've ever heard more soul come out of a harmonica.
The sheer lyrical magnificence has always made this song rate as one of the top 3 of all time, insofar as I am concerned.
