Hey guys, someone sent me on IG the proof of Morissette livestreaming the performance on another channel called 'Stage Sessions' which proves that she wasn't lipsynching but I'd like to point out that it's still not a reason for you to bash me for what I said because lipsynching isn't a crime. You know I think Morissette is amazing and can sing live without a problem so it's no big deal if she lipsynchs from time to time to focus on the quality of the audio and video. For example : in the video that I released Saturday of Sam Mangubat and Katrina Velarde, they were lipsynching their own voices because that cover was professionally recorded in a studio. Anyway, loosen up guys and have a good week! 💛

There are many belters out there but Mori’s tone, emotions, VOCAL POWER AND RESONANCE, VOCAL QUALITY, VERSATILITY (ability to fit her voice in any genres she sings BEAUTIFULLY while squeezing in Mori’s own tone/magic), stage presence = EXCEPTIONALLY SUPERB!
And for the record, Mori NEVER lipsynched in her entire career. She is just too good.

Not sure how you can say she’s lipsyncing. You can heard her taking deep breaths. If this was pre-recording, one would think more refinement. But then, you’d say Morissette purposely use a recording that wasn’t refined. The Wish Bus performances are refined. Sang live but refined before being uploaded. 10secs into the video, you already claiming... “see lipsyncing”. Morissette has performed Defying Gravity in previous concert gigs. This was in a LIVE TH-cam show Quaran-themes. It's being shown live but the actual recording was done prior to the actual live show. She was also livestreaming in Kumu that time while watching herself as that's being played live.

As others said, (because I know it's confusing) This is one of 6 Broadway Pieces she recorded for An event produced by STAGEs (her talent company. ) Each piece was recorded in full live in her home, then post edited for the audio. There is no lipsync. (This was explained by her during a tandem livestream on KUMU it's still there btw look for the June 24th stream on her acct) STAGES did a livesteam event of the entire set on TH-cam on June 24th. What you see here is someone who screen recorded the live event with the chat going and they uploaded it. STAGES took the Livestream down and is now releasing each performance individually. The first was "Defying Gravity " which was dropped a day ago. (That's the formal upload).
Just an aside ,she has been singing "Defying Gravity" for over 9 years now.. Her live stage performances of this are all over TH-cam.

Isn't her voice what we are here to discuss not live or lip synch? We ALL know when Mori is healthy she is as good live as she is on recordings so who cares. From the point of the song where she made that face and nodded her head she put down one of greatest Broadway song performances I've ever heard. I will never hear the words " Look" or "Fly" the same again. She is an ACTOR while she sings except its not acting. Thats her emotion pouring out for us the listener.
