Same with other states. There are many different types of traditional houses here in Malaysia. The best pisang goreng is just basic fried banana, without additional flavour.

You should see Kampung Morton at night. It is so beautiful. The whole area is lit up and the lights are reflected in the river. That goes for the river cruise too. Beautiful lights shine along the river at night. It is totally different than in the day time. The next time you are here you should also go for tai bak (a Straits-born Chinese kind of chendol) and fried oyster (oysters fried in egg batter). They are so delicious. You must also visit Jonker Walk (a food haven in Malacca). Opens only on weekends.

If you like old creaky houses built on stilts, be sure to visit Penang island... you'll find a whole community of stilt houses from the 1800s in the Chinese clan jetties.

Kampung Mortem is much more preserve than Kg Baru KL due to the historical value. Kg baru needs a development and mixed of preservation. The historical value is not strong like kg morten that is why it is just like a typical old kampung. Quite number of Indonesian rent and business there in kg baru.
Please try those simple roadside fried banana which is just banana dip in a batter and deep fried. Forget about those adventurous funky fried banana with cheese and chocs. That's not the original style.

Pisang goreng with cheese and chocolate sauce is really a recent invention. I personally don't like it. If I'm going to have pisang goreng, I prefer the original. Just good old fried bananas coated with crispy batter. Simple but still delicious. Cheese and chocolate make it too complicated.

Tips: To reduce the spiciness, i usually order drink with milk based Teh Ais or Milo Ais

Please try those simple roadside fried banana which is just banana dip in a batter and deep fried. Forget about those adventurous funky fried banana with cheese and chocs. That's not the original style.

Mr. Luke .. if you cannot take the hot n spicy sambal.. please dont take it.. many of Malaysian also cannot take spicy sambal.. we just take in small portion..
Can tell them less spicy for nasi goreng, nasi lemak just remove the sambal
Pisang goreng with cheese and chocolate sauce is really a recent invention. I personally don't like it. If I'm going to have pisang goreng, I prefer the original. Just good old fried bananas coated with crispy batter. Simple but still delicious. Cheese and chocolate make it too complicated.
