This comp was at Sharks- I was there as a 10 year old grom with my 12 year old brother. Midnight Oil were there and performed, I won a surfboard in the raffle- my first thruster (I had surfed for about 6 months on a Bare Nature single made in Byron, bought at Les Purcell Surf shop for $90) The board I won was a Power Design (probably donated) made by local Mick Hamilton from Peregian Surf Shop. My Dad bribed our way into the competitors area with a box of grapes (he owned a fruit veg business)- we met some of the surfers, we looked up to their shredding, a memory of a time that surfing meant being at peace with ourselves. Thanks for the vid.

Yes correct, however the movie was called Wave Of the Future, in Australia.

Oh wow this awesome. I have never seen a left like that on the sunshine coast, I am thinking its either dead mans at mooloolaba or caloundra somewhere, I did"nt surf Caloundra hardly at all in my youth.

I think it was just a random bank at Maroochydore.

@@vhssurfvault5665 Ok I can see how that is possible, Back in the day I remember Maroochy could have some epic waves, as long as the stars and universe would line up ;).
Maybe right hand side of the surf club or further down near sharks. Had the longest barrel of my life there.
