@ Maria Torres Madame C.J. Walker "owed" it to Annie Malone (her defacto mentor"), Bridget "Biddy" Mason, & Mary Pleasant who were ALL black women millions BEFORE her !!!!!

I want to see it though but I thought she created the products

Perhaps she just had the vision and the sales ability. Steve Jobs couldn't write a line of computer code.

I think it was that she got the idea of her line from this lady but came up with her own separate product when she saw the potential market. Could be wrong of course! Also, if j remember it right, her product was successful because it washed out the nasty stuff from their hair and allowed the scalp to recover and their hair to grow back. But I hope someone can fact check me on that.

@lady grey thank you for double checking! I couldn't remember for sure.

@@hellomoron Walker "learned" the business from Annie Malone (her mentor, who happened to be a millionaire years before her). Walker sold Poro Products which was a company owned by Annie Malone. Later Walker started her own company which included a network of salons to sell the product. A Network of Beauty Schools to train Cosmetologist on how to use the product. She also built a factory to make her product line. Walker learned a little about scalp treatment from her brothers who were Barbers, hower she learned how to "sell" and copied the "business model" from Annie Malone. Her husband's name was "C.J. Walker", thus her professional name.

@@SacklunchShacks Interesting! Is that in a biography? Could you tell me where to read about that? Thank you!

Seriously, the first woman ever to make a million dollars is black and builds a fortune from black based beauty, but industries want to say there's no market for their products those communities? Duuuuuuuuuuuuuumb. Especially from a business perspective!!! There are stock investers and money makers who knew this woman, rolling in their grave over that. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
