awesome, awesome, love his hives, but they didnt work for me when you have a plane spraying a corn field almost right next door, i love ot see videos of bees still living in hives by man,,,,,

When you mention that 11/11 made it through winter - you might also compare that to your experience buying bees and putting them in Langstroth hives. :)

I came by here because I just saw a video of an interview with Paul Stamets about Amadou extract (from certain mushrooms, I think, since Paul Stamets is the mushroom guru extraordinaire) and and bees. He said it doubles the lifespan of the bees and reduces the deformed wing virus by 1000 fold.
Have you heard of it? I'd love to know more if you have!
BTW... I came here because I was searching for Dr. Leo Sharashkin.

Are your stands anchored in the ground or are they movable?

They are not anchored. You can move them but they are heavy.

Greetings from NC! I don't have much opinion of them as basically all Bees these days are mixes. But the original dark bees were very hardy to winter climates!
